Really works, easy to use, do research first.
Plug in and follow all the directions as it updates automatically. Out of the box it will require an update before install to vehicle. (Edit follows) So I've been running this tuner for over two years now, and still ABSOLUTELY love everything about it and what it does for my truck a 2018 Silverado LT crew cab 5.3 L83 with the 6 speed auto and 3.42 2wd axle. I bought this 8245 way before the 8246 was available, and now I see the 8245 requires an additional fee to unlock a 2017-2019... but the 8246 is more expensive, hmm same difference?... read that GM is charging for the unlocking of vin#'s, double hmm.. So anyway, go with the 8246 for 2017-2019. And 2016 and earlier go with 8245 (verified on Diablo website.) I've updated my tuner several times over the past couple years, and never was charged any additional fees, again I have the 8245. So just found it interesting to update this review, to not confuse anyone why it was possible to use the 8245 on 2017-2018 before.

I wish I would have ordered this sooner
This programmer is awesome I didn't buy it to increase my fuel mileage I don't care about fuel mileage whatsoever. I installed it on a 2015 GMC Sierra SLT 6.2 L 8-speed. I chose the Diablo tune, turned off the AFM/DOD, disabled the Speed limiter, and set the transmission shift points to firm. I could immediately notice a difference in power and drivability. And the amazing thing is my average fuel mileage has already gone up 6 miles per gallon and I've only put a hundred miles on it so far and it's still climbing. And I've been driving it harder than I normally do. I had to make sure the speed limiter was removed LOL . MPG was the last of my concerns I thought I was actually going to get worse. But I was totally wrong.

Really makes a difference.
Bought this mainly to delete the AFM/DOD function and add a little hp on my 2012 Sierra. After installing the "Diablo Tune" I noticed a huge difference in how the truck performed. The acceleration, shift points, rev range, throttle response, and even the mpg all improved significantly. I would definitely recommend this tuner.

Definitely worth it.
Okay, so before I go into details please understand that there are other tuners out there that may be better, but I didn't see the extra money was worth it considering I'm not racing my 2015 Silverado, and I'm not THAT savvy when it comes to ECM changes. My main focus was to change some parameters, gain some MPGs, and if I throw on some aftermarket mods (CIA, exhaust, etc.) then I can also talk with a custom tuner for extra $$$ to get the AFR down. Now, with all that being stated, this tuner is worth the money in my opinion. I've only driven about 30-40 miles, but I have a feeling this is exactly what I wanted. Not only was I able to calibrate my oversized tires, turn off AFM (which is a waste from GM), change my shift points, throttle response, and add the canned 87 tune, but I was able to do so within a matter of minutes. Basically, if you want a truck that's supposed to act like a truck, you'll be happy. I will say so far I'm not too happy with the shifting aspect still. It's still hesitant and trying to 'find gears,' but I think that's just a logging and sending to a tuner factor. Albeit, much better than stock. I will try to update as time goes on.

Pitiful and deceiving.
I was looking for a tuner for my 2018 Silverado that went a little further than canned tunes. This looked pretty good at 355.00 so I went for it. I was very excited when it arrived and read it must be updated before installing. No problem. The unit was a convenient wifi and just powered it through my laptop. Done! Even ran it again just to make sure it said it was up to date. Ran out to my truck ready to install. Well you see the message I received. Pissed I came back in and updated again. Nope. I contacted the tech support. They don't work weekends and final got a response the following Thursday. I did try and return it because I felt it should be a plug and play kind of deal. They said there was a 20% restocking and if not in original box and resalable was 50% off of my 355.00. I even had to pay the freight back to them and only had 5 days to return. So the tech support lady tells me I need a licensing for the 2017 and newer GM vehicles. Once the Ignition program is loaded it will tell you need 40.00 more dollars to unlock your truck. Well I am already in deep here so here we go. This was 7:00 Saturday evening when they took my 40 bucks and I finally got my email saying it was unlocked 10AM Monday morning. Yes it finally does work but kind of feel a little bait and switch went on with this. Charge me the full amount next time and avoid all this, Big reason for this was it alters trans shifts all the way to hard. My GM 6 auto is sloppy and seems to be always hunting for that gear. When you put it in gear takes a couple seconds and slams into gear. Truck has 2K miles and suspect a trans rebuild will be in the future. I felt no noticeable difference in shifting when on hard shift. Bummer.

Have a tow truck follow you.
I’ve used many tuners before and they were real simple to work with. I have 40 years experience as a computer engineer so I expected this one to be a breeze based on the reviews. Couldn’t get it to update either with WiFi or attached to a computer. Wasted 5 hours and finally left it on overnight (as some have suggested). Awoke to it updated. Purchased a second license with no issues. Ran a basic tune on a stock Hummer H2. It appeared to wake up the performance and drivability during two short test drives. The third day I got on the freeway and within a few seconds, the truck bogged down and backfired, threw a check engine light and wouldn’t go more than 3 mph (limp home mode??) until finally dying a few minutes later. Big black truck stalled out at night on a 75 mph freeway. Not fun. Five hundred dollar black box that has ruined my H2. I would give zero stars but some people have said there could be a bad unit among the many good ones sold. Tech support has early east coast hours and no weekends (when most people work on their vehicles) so I’m stuck until Monday. Will update review once I can contact them.

Throws a code with basic tune. Not recommended.
Basic tune throws a code on my truck. Unusable. Expensive just to change tire size.

Product not as described
The tuner is working well but is not offering features as described. It will allow me to adjust some engine parameters but no access to transmission at all. The interface on the screen does not work as described as well. I have contacted the manufacture technical support and I have been told that the tuner should give access to more features than really does. I sent another email with more questions but after their first response, I have been ignored forever.Returning product is not an option due to the ridiculous return policy of Amazon. Since you used the product ones, you are eligible for a 50% refund only! Unfortunately, you must use the product in order to see what is really offer to you. Wrong and not fair returning policy. Ones again, the tuner is working and gives a nice boost for my 2009 Tahoe but the tuner is not such a thing as described, so within these circumstances is way overpriced according to its abilities, without a fair way for return.

2013 Camaro SS likes tuner!
Great tuner! You can change a lot of parameters . Changed rear tire size, adjusted fan control, 93 tune, removed DOD! Speed limiter delete… and so on. The only issue I had was Wi-Fi doesn’t connect, can’t pickup any wifi at all! Had to hookup to CP and download software. After that no issues updating. Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants more power and can play with parameters… if you know what you are doing..

Very pleased!
I have a k&n cold air intake and mbrp cat back exhaust on my truck already. Installed this tuner on my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3l ecotec3. Used the 87 octane tune, TCM firm shift tune, turned off AFM/DOD.Very pleased with the improved drivability and performance. Perfect for daily driving and occasional towing. I highly recommend.

Absolutely recommend!
Amazing quick delivery, worked perfect, disabled AFM/DOD, cleared all check engine codes, updated perfectly, installed 87 tune, absolutely love it. Local shops wanted 500.00 just to delete AFM/DOD...... got that and a custom tune for same price!
