Do your own toilet repair as a novice
Every 20 minutes, my Mansfield toilet briefly made the sound it makes when refilling after a flush, which was likely was due to a leaky flapper valve. I procrastinated for a year until it broke even more when it continued to make the refill sound and never stopped, which was likely due to a faulty refill valve. I was forced to shut the water valve to stop water from being wasted and had no choice but to either call a plumber or to roll the dice and try to do it myself. I figured I couldn’t make it any worse, so I bought this item and followed the simple replacement instructions and it wasn’t messy at all. I also purchased the Mansfield 630-0206 universal flapper valve and swapped it out with the old one. I turned the water back on and refilled the tank and gave it a few flushes and turned the height dial for fine tuning of the water level. At first, it started to make that brief refill sound periodically but that soon stopped and it’s been working flawlessly. I even changed the flush lever with the chromed plastic lever included in the box. I had to shorten the internal portion of the lever by cutting it down to fit properly. I didn’t use the larger red rubber washer that was included. Overall, I think ai saved over $350 by not calling the plumber this time.

Smooth installation
I got this to fix a toilet that kept running. It was a Mansfield No.160 (1.6 GPF) with a 211 flush valve. I like that the kit contains all the parts I would need at once--fill valve with lock nut, orange flush valve seal, and lever. I had watched tutorials beforehand, but the instructions included are very clearly written with color images. So I think someone would be able to do it with only the paper instructions. They also include a link to online instructions. The only other tools I needed were a small tub to catch the last bit of water in the tank, a washcloth to wipe down the inside, a wrench to loosen the nut for the waterline and the locknut, and scissors to cut the tube a little shorter.

Worked but handle assembly dint work
My toilet is a Mansfield 160 which developed a defect in the fill valve causing it to spray water up on the lid which then ran down the outside of the tank, through the floor and ruined a ceiling tile in the basement. This Flushmaster replacement for Mansfield toilets was pretty easy to install and the instructions were very good. I took a star off though because the new handle assembly was not useable. In the picture you can see that the new blue handle rod is angled towards what would be the front of the tank. This causes it to bind on the flush valve such that it does not seal and the tank cannot fill more than about 1/4-1/2in with water so I had to reuse the old one. I also ended up installing and removing the new fill valve assembly 4 times to adjust the height of the new valve to get the tank to fill to the proper level. The “fine adjust knob” on the Flushmaster was already at the highest level so the approx 4in of adjustment was all in the less water direction. I could not center it and use it because the course valve height adjustment would have needed to make the fill valve higher than the tank lid. In spite of that, I will probably order 2 more to replace the fill valves on 2 other Mandfield 160 toilets. I don’t like the Mansfield fill valve design that allows for the possibility of water spraying up. I literally had several streams of water spray my face when I first removed the lid to investigate the water running down the side of the tank. The toilets are all 13-14 years old so better safe than sorry.

Finally fixed the toilet
I didn't realize when I started removing pieces to our toilet that the Mansfield toilets are completely different than anything that says "universal". Once I fixed one toilet with a fill valve issue, I realized this kit would fix the other with a flapper issue, so I bought a 2nd.I was afraid I was going to have to remove the tank to do a full replacement and fix the flapper, but I only needed the rubber ring and instructions. (I went ahead and replaced everything that was in the kit anyway.)The hardest part was getting the old stuff off. Fluidmaster instructions were easy to follow for replacement.

Worked Perfectly
I needed to replace a leaky valve and this worked out great. It does work for more models of the Mansfield toilet than the description states. My model wasn't listed on their website.

Easy to install. Works like a charm.
I don't like when my landlord has to fix stuff that I could've fixed. This was insanely easy to put in my toilet tank. Anyone can do it. Been a few months and no problem

Not made well slow filling.
First: There is no flow control to the tank when filling. 2nd This part as well as the bottom leaks and is not designed well at all. 3rd: The height adjustment cannot be adjusted after installing in tank, you have to remove adjust and adjust (other makes you can adjust height after installing) OA I have never seen a valve built and designed so cheap in my life. I bought two and then threw them out bought two others.
