Excellent and precise, with one caution...
I used one of these for years before now having to replace it. It’s excellent for the persnickety folks among us that want a precise mix ratio.Word of caution, make sure you don’t leave any petroleum products in it that will gum when left alone for a season or two. I made this mistake and the thing was so stuck shut that when I went to use it in the spring, the piston/plunger was glued by this gum, into the syringe body.I pulled to hard in an attempt to free it, effectively breaking it off at the point where the plunger stem meets the plunger.

Guarantees Fresh Fuel Mix
This mixing tool always guarantees a fresh mix of fuel for your tools with two stroke engines. I've owned one for several years. Before I bought this mixing tool, I would make 1 gallon of fuel mix at a time and it would usually sit around in the can for months until it could all be used. The markings on the cylinder make it simple to get the correct mix very quickly and consistently and allows you to mix quantities from a 1/2 pint to probably a gallon. I make a pint of fuel mix in a 1 qt plastic measuring cup using fresh gasoline whenever I need it. A pint is usually good for 1 1/2 - 2 fills of my blower vac, string trimmer or chain saw, all of which require a 50:1 mix, which is typically what I need for the amount of work I have whenever I use a tool. Yes, it may take a little more time to mix a small amount of fuel whenever it is needed rather than mixing a gallon at one time but I know the fuel will always be fresh and provide the best performance. Also, there is one less gas can taking up space in my garage. This is a really convenient and inexpensive tool that you'll probably appreciate a little more every time you use it.

Product is good and probably perfect for injecting lubricants
Product is good and probably perfect for injecting lubricants. I've used to inject Slime and tubeless tire solution to road bike innertubes and tires. After a few uses the thumbring broke off because Slime tends to clump up if the valve stem or injector is not wetted with water first. My remedy was to flatten the outside of the plunger allowing my palm to push the plunger down. The plunger has slits cut down the step so installing zip-ties the plunger can be pulled back out of the syringe.

Never store mixed fuel again
This is an incredible product. I mix just the amount or close to the mixed fuel i need now. Never storing and having mixed fuel sit around. How i use it: I bought a premix fuel aluminum can from the store, used it and now reuse that gas safe canister to mix and store the oil/fuel. Easy to mix, pore into tank I'm using and have a little left for when i need more fuel. I can also easily take the canister with me. Tight seal. This injector has made on the fly mixing very easy.

It's OK for the price.
I mix two-stroke fuel in less-than-a-gallon quantities, and this product is very helpful. As others have said, the plunger can be difficult to operate due to friction. My other complaint is they only seem to last a couple/three years even with occasional use. I probably use it 4 times/year, but after 2 or 3 years, the ring/handle on the plunger breaks when trying to operate the plunger. This breakage is despite trying to be careful. Another reviewer mentioned using a flat-blade screwdriver to get the plunger started when raising. I'll have to try that.

Hopkins oil mix tool
This syringe works great when mixing small amounts of two cycle oil/gas mix. It is the best tool I have found to use for this purpose. I especially like the fact I can mix small quantities such as 1 pint for a trimmer. Provides the ability to always have fresh mixture.

Better than other methods.
The Hopkins MixMizer is an all plastic graduated syringe that provides 2 cycle oil measurements, provided by Hopkins, for 1 pint fuel/oil ratio's of 16:1, 25:1 32:1, 40:1, 50:1 and 100:1 it also provides 1 quart, ½ Liter and 1 Liter fuel/oil mix ratio's for 25:1 32:1, 40:1, 50:1 and 100:1. For larger volumes of fuel you just increase the number of times you fill the syringe with oil, It also provides ½, 1, 1-1/2 and 2 oz measurements and 0 to 60 cc measurements in 2 cc increments. It takes very little practice to get consistent measurements if you use standard syringe filling procedures.I did note that the black marks on the syringe provided by Hopkins tend to provide a slightly oil rich fuel / oil mix. My thoughts on 2 stroke engines is that it's better to error a little rich on oil than lean since I would rather foul a spark plug than seize an engine. The plastic hose, nozzle extension, is handy to get towards the bottom of 1 quart oil bottles but it is not long enough to get to the bottom of larger oil containers. After using the syringe to extract oil from the bottle, with the nozzle on, I remove the extension to avoid an oil rich mix before injecting the oil into the fuel container. I have found that the MixMizer is a lot less messy than using a graduated cylinder or trying to use a measuring spoon since you are able to force almost all of the oil from the syringe. I noted that a few cc's of oil are retained in the tip of the syringe. Most of this residual oil can be expelled back into the oil bottle by cycling the syringe a few times. The only things that it doesn't come with are a cap to keep the nozzle clean and a zip lock bag to store it in.
