I only rec'd a wiring diagram & it wasn't very good..

Q: Can you replace the winch line? How does it connect to the drum?

Yes. It connects to the drum with a big Allen head bolt on the side of the drum, so you get full width use of the drum. Make sure you do not buy a longer winch line, as the one it comes with barely fits.
