Roman Gladius Hand Forged Beautiful Sword

It is great for what it is. I got mine for display but it still has a wieghtieness to it that let's you know it's real. I enjoy it quite a bit. Sheath is great as well; great quality.

I am a collector of knives and swords and had been looking for a gladius to add to my collection. It was tough going since most of the ones available are just essentially a gladius shaped machete or Bowie knife. That's why I was so pleased to discover this sword, yes an actual sword. It is well made and fine to look at. It has made a fine addition to my collection (joke intended) and I encourage you to consider adding it to yours as well.

The media could not be loaded. The edges of the blade aren't laser even l, or so I thought at 1st glance, but that's not what I was looking for in this blade anyway. Then I took it out of the scabbard again and simply handled it for awhile. And on closer inspection, it is very even after all.The balance is excellent, the edge is threateningly pointed and sharp, full tang and sturdy. Totally changed my mind. For the price, definitely a keeper. The slight difference in edges actual brings a lot of personality to this blade, and I'd know it from another like it. "IT will keeel..."if I had to grab something of off one of my many walls, this might just be my first choice.Minimalistic and functional. The grip is solid, if a little smooth, but I've come to love hockey (stick) tape for this very purpose. I am VERY happy with this purchase.Truth is, now I want a second one. A formidable, well-crafted tool.UPDATED: I couldn't help myself.I bought a second one. When it hits Herr, I'm rewatching "Spartacus" on Starz.The more I handle this, the more I love it.

Nice weapon. Good edge. Full tang. Worth every penny. There's a reason Romans used it for 100s of years.

The quality is reflective of the price. It’s a good concept but corners were cut that shouldn’t have been. The metal is not a good quality. I have owned this sword for a month now and significant amounts of rust are beginning to develop on the blade.

First off, the edges were not sharp. I have butter knives with more serviceable edges. However, I was not surprised. For the price, I expected a few corners to be cut. Fortunately, I have the means to sharpen my tools.The handle material is micarta, which affords a reasonable grip. I added leather wrap to improve the grip security.I like the blade shape. Very effective for close quarters cutting and thrusting.The grind could have been more symmetrical, but you get what you pay for.The steel is D2, I believe. The time I spent sharpening the edges seems to verify this. Take your time, and keep your sharping angles consistent, and you'll get an edge you can almost shave with.
