Update 12/25/22 After only 5 months of having this horn kit installed, one of the 2 relays quit working. Which meant that one of the horns quit working. Good thing I have knowledge of electronics and I was able to troubleshoot myself. Auto electricians charge a lot of money to troubleshoot. I also happened to have a spare relay. So both horns are working again.I’ve tried about 5 different air horn set ups and have not been happy with either the sound they made or the volume they put out. THIS SET UP IS FINALLY THE ONE!! The sound is that of a big rig and the volume is super loud!! Mechanically mounting the horn was easy. But…. Electronically it may be a challenge to some. I know electronics. I repair CT and MRI scanners. So the electronic setup was easy for me. It only comes with 2 relays and some hardware. There is no harness. You will need 14 gauge hook up wire, crimp on connectors, in-line fuse holders with fuses or circuit breakers, and a switch to activate the horn. I ended up turning on these horn relays from my factory horn signal. So these horns will blow when I press on the steering whee to activate the factory horn.

The media could not be loaded. This thing is LOUD! It's probably not as loud as a 3 or 4 trumpet system with a big air tank but unless you are trying to make your neighbors wet the bed, it should be plenty for most folks. It sure scared the heck out of my daughter's cat.Its a 3 out of 5 on my personal difficulty scale. It took about 2 hours to install. There is a good bit of wiring that has to be done and I had to fabricate a bracket for the trumpets. If you don't know what a relay does or how to read a simple electrical diagram, then you will struggle with it.Buy yourself some 14ga. red and black wire, female connectors, battery terminal ends, inline fuse holders and 20 amp fuses. It doesn't come with any wiring.

Overall I wasn't very impressed with the build quality. There was no support at the bell end of the horns and their entire mount is plastic, I am very concerned about vibration and decided to mount it sideways otherwise one dirt road would probably see the horn separating from the base.The compressors need to be mounted vertically with power connections facing down and as close to the horn as possible to reduce "skin-effect" resistance.Took 1/4" x 1 1/2" Aluminum angle and made a mount for the compressors.There were unused bumper mounts that worked perfect.Then cut two short pieces to make a "C" channel.The best spot for the horns was on the frame, but due to an open area below the unused bumper mounts I was concerned about water getting into the horns that is thrown up by cars in front during rain.So I put one of the angles in a vice and bent it out from 90° to about 70° so it would be protected by the bumper but still have 8" clear in front to not restrict the horn output.Then took a drive through a long new tunnel in Seattle and started a horn war.It was rewarding to have the undisputed loudest, and fun to act like a kid for a minute.It's probably one of the loudest "on demand" air horn available, but don't expect anything close to a train sound.Those take a lot of air and require a 4 or 5 gallon compressed air tank to store enough to make the sound.That said, it does have an acceptably low frequency "bass" sound.I've gotten a ticket for illegal horn output with a big 5 horn system, but I think the cop was more angry with the illegal use of illumination when I turned on the offroad high power overhead lights when he refused to dim his lights coming in the opposite direction, then hit him with the horn before I saw it was a cop.This horn is just enough below the legal max to not be in question and will definitely get other drivers attention but is not the advertised 150db.I routed one of the hose lines to help reduce sideways vibration.Only time will tell if vertical mounting will avoid a broken mount that should not have been plastic if they didn't bother to provide bell end support.Overall I'm happy with the result, and that in itself is an accomplishment due to my high standard demands in anything that goes on my truck.

installed on a late model F150. Stock horn measured in at a tame 95db. These horns produce a solid, repeatable 117db.That’s about as loud as a round fired from a handgun.You don’t get a lot of hose to run to the horns and the compressors need to be mounted vertically. The trumpets are less than 18” long (estimate), so consider this for fitment. It sounds like a dump truck or other large truck. It’s effective for getting the attention of cell phone using drivers who aren’t paying attention.The compressors are good. I tried swapping in some Wolo 808c, which should produce a better psi, but they were almost 4db quieter, so I put the stock marco compressors back in. For a direct drive horn, this is a great bang for the buck.

Well just opened the box up and found out the mounting base is made of plastic. Not real sure how long that will last being exposed to the weather. No mounting brackets for the air compressors. Bells are ok, some type of metal, don't know about the sound yet. Will update once installed.Update Nov, 7th, 2018. Just mounted horns. I drive a 18 wheeler for a living, wasn't expecting big truck sound. They are ok, nice tone, not a lot of volume. They are better than the stock horns on my dodge 2500 ram. These horns sound like something you would hear on a small box truck. If you don't want to spend the extra 100.00 and go thru the trouble of mounting a air tank, these will work for you. Don't expect the super loud, make your neighbors wet the bed loud, just noticeably louder than stock.Install wasn't to bad. If you can change spark plugs and splice some wires, shouldn't be a problem for you. I'm would give them a 3.75 on stars, not as loud as they make them out to be, plastic where bells mount. No wiring harness, gotta buy that separate.Gonna show 4 stars, but I really think 3.75, for now, 1st day with them
