Excellent Quality and Good Value
I've worked with acrylic gouache (Holbein Acryla) for a while, but I'm now experimenting with traditional, designer's gouache. I like having the ability to reactivate dry color already laid down, something that's not possible with acrylic binders. I decided to invest in this 12-color ShinHan set after trying a friend's larger set.The ShinHan quality is top-notch, particularly for this price-point. Gouache is creamy and spreadable straight from the tube. It thins evenly with water and mixes well. I've attached a photo of my swatches on cheap cellulose watercolor paper: the top color is straight from the tube, fading to a tint (with white) on the bottom. I've included color names, numbers, and pigments included. There's definitely some redundancy here in this set if you're someone who mixes paints a lot. The "Permanent Green Light" (PY3 & PG7) is (theoretically) just a mix of the pigments in "Permanent Yellow" (PY3) and "Viridian" (PG7). I wish we'd gotten a different version of "Turquoise Blue," as this one's a huge pile of different pigments, including white (PB28, PB15:3, PG7, and PW6), and I prefer simpler pigments (and can add white myself as needed). If ShinHan sold a minimalist mixing set of 5-6 colors, I'd have purchased that. However, some of those extra colors (notably the Viridian and Violet) are really beautiful and can save me mixing time. For those new to gouache, remember that a wetter wash will absolutely reactivate paint beneath it, but this also allows for really lovely blending. So far, I'm very satisfied with this set!

So Vibrant!
These are gorgeous. I have Himi gouache and Caran D'Ache in the pans, and I'm actually happy with both of them, since I'm a gouache beginner and they let me play around. I saw these recommended as being professional quality and decided to take a chance since they were reasonably priced compared to the other pro brands.I have to say they are amazing. They lay down so rich and vibrant that it's a pleasure to work with them. I have no idea about their lightfastness, but I can't imagine any (other) pro brands showing that much better when it comes to pigment.

Vibrant colors.
I love this gouache. The colors are vibrant and it has a creamy consistency. I’m not sure about lightfast qualities and I’m new to gouache and painting in general but very happy with this paint so far.

High quality and versatile
The quality and color can't be beat. Even if you are a beginner, start with the professional gouache for a great experience. Mixing colors is great. Using it with other brand is easy. Easy to wet again if you want to reactivate dry paints.

Inexperienced but amazed
This is my first time purchasing designer gouache, I wanted to start small and I researched like crazy before settling with these for my upgrade. I know Holbein is a popular brand, and I have their acrylic gouache, but as far as the watersoluable/color gouache, I will just continue to stick with these and slowly upgrade my colors as I can. Thanks to the himi jelly cups being so popular, I knew there was something better and difference was so astonishing to me!. These are extremely vibrant and I could not believe the color that each tube provided! Application is easy, they are lovely with color and brightness, blending is amazing and smooth and they dry quick enough for me! It really does make all the difference in the brand you buy. And this has just proven that quality over quantity matters. Invest in yourself the first time because going the cheap route does not show you the full love and satisfaction a new art medium will possibly bring you!

Excellent Gouache and low price
Great price for Gouache . Sarah Burns reviewed it on YouTube and it was her favorite for filling a travel palette.

Creamy, gourges colors!
I love the Shinhan watercolors primary set and tint set, they are so beautiful! And I couldn't miss the gouache from this brand! They are going to be my complement of watercolors, also, they are going to be my set for plein air. I have been incorporating white gouache into my watercolors, and this set is going to be very useful. I thought the colors were boring, but no! They are vibrant and very pretty. On the swatche sheet show, most of them look transparent, they don't on paper. I don't know if is the type of the paper.Ok, in the photos you can see the mixes I did. Very gourges colors, oh I love them! If you want the colors look lighter or more opaque, you should use a lot of white. Yellow will give you more brightness. If you want more vibrant and muted colors, add black. Viridian is multifaceted, it gives multiple gamma. Carmine is a pinkish red tone, and scarlet is more orange. Violet is beautiful, very vibrant! I have one concern, and it is that the scarlet, violet, turquoise, and orange were runny and there was separation from the binder. Keep that in mind. Gouache is usually a bit more solid. But, I'm ok with that, and I love them anyway.

The paints are nice
I’ve been using Windsor & newton and Holbein before trying these paints so I didn’t expect to really like these paints as much as I do. These may be my new favorite. Nothing wrong with the other brands, but at this price point I don’t see myself buying the others again.
