I bought this to engrave a pint glass as a birthday gift. I tried it first on the side of a honey jar I had in the kitchen. It comes with two diamond heads, batteries and other accessories. Well worth that price tag. It's better to practice first and use on the actual item you want to engrave once you feel confident with it but it is very easy to use and quite therapeutic if I'm being honest. I really enjoyed it and I think I didn't do too bad for my first time. I wore safety glasses and a mask for precaution although it doesn't say it's necessary but I would recommend it especially when engraving glass. Definitely recommend.

So far, this little engraver has done well, excellent value for money.Yes, it's early days yet & I've only had occasion to use it a few times but I'm impressed.It is, as was stated in the description, high speed & it's very effective because of it.This particular engraver comes well kitted-out with 6 diamond-tipped bits in a little useful tube & a mini Allen key.I'm thinking that if it's treated with a little respect it should last well.. Having said that if I do run into real problems with it ie. not caused by user abuse, I'll come back to give an update.. Thank you.

I ordered this thinkingnit May be OK for an idea I had, but I was really pleased it was so much better than expected. I love it and am seriously becoming addicted to engraving, lol So easy to use and comfortable to hold. Comes with everything you need to get started. Perfect for me as we travel/camp alot and it runs on batteries, so can still work with it. Now hubby wants one as I won't let him keep pinching mine.

I bought this to use for really fine carving work for a model that I’m making. It’s Ok but that’s about it. It looks the part but it has a number of faults.Firstly it is really underpowered. The torque from the motor really just isn’t up to some things. It comes supplied with a number of accessories, such as sanding drums, but the motor just isn’t powerful enough for sanding. Using a mini burr is ok though.Secondly, the bits are held in by a small grub screw. It does the job but makes the spindle off-centre so it introduces unnecessary vibration. A small collet chuck would have been better but this would have put the cost up.Rather disappointing but maybe ok for just engraving.

Great little tool for the money!It has very low torque which means as soon as you apply any pressure the barrel stops spinning. You have to work very lightly. If you are purchasing this for a one off job (as I did) then it’ll do the job, but if you are placing to use this regularly I’d recommend a more expensive model with more power.
