Worried about the motor vs clay weight...
Love the 14" bat, my last wheel was 12" and this looks double the size. It's also one of the quietest wheels I've ever owned. The adjustable height won me over. I'm 6 foot and being hunched over or losing stability in the base to build it up is something you don't have to worry about... as much. Heavy solid build, heavy at 25lbs, with padded feet keep it where it needs to be when I'm pulling or coning. My last couple of wheels have burned out because as I improve, I throw more and more clay. The most I've thrown is 15lbs, 25" vase and I guarantee i stole months of its lifespan and it was only delivered 3 days ago. The larger bat plus the clay creates centripetal torque that the Chinese 3rd party motor can't hardly handle, so keep that in mind. It's deep basin is amazing and an ease to clean, and keeps you from mopping every throw! Still a great but from someone who needs a $1500 wheel and can't afford it. I've owned 3 wheels that where under $200 and this is the best yet.

Inexpensive, budget wheel that works!
This inexpensive wheel is not going to have the quality materials of a $1000 pottery wheel. Everything is made of thinner and lighter material. BUT for the price it is an amazing value. The folks, who designed this wheel, were able to pull together a well-functioning wheel with modest materials. In short, it works and seems to work quite well. I've not had it long enough to speak to its durability. The wheel is low, so you will need to raise it about 8 inches, depending on your preferences. I started out with a pair of concrete blocks, which seemed to be about right for me. But because I needed to move the wheel about from time to time, I built a small lightweight base out of scrap wood. The wheel has more power than I expected. I've centered 3 lbs of clay with ease and the motor did not slow. Something to consider is that the overall weight of the wheel is around 25 lbs. So, if you are going to lean in for centering larger pieces, you may want to place the wheel against a wall or something heavy so that it does not move. The foot control is very responsive. I can slow it down to a crawl. The high end speed seems about right for centering. All in all, it was an excellent buy.2024 UPDATE: The speed control has become very difficult to adjust at the lower speeds. When trying to increase the speed just a little, it speeds up rapidly and has destroyed a couple of pieces that I was throwing. I suspect it is the foot pedal. I checked inside and found that it uses plastic gears and I suspect that it now has some play in the speed adjustment. Bummer.

Beginner friendly at a beginner price.
The pottery wheel came super fast, it was already pre built and ready to use out of the box. I do wish the power supply cord was longer. Even with an extension cord you could still end up with it sitting in some water if you’re a messy potter. The wheel surface itself does have texture on it so be sure to use enough water so you’re not getting friction burns when throwing. It’s definitely light weight and seems to handle clay with no issues. You’re not going to be able to center crazy wights of clay. A couple lbs at best but depending on what you’re using it for this could be the perfect starter option. The forward and reverse directional spin options work. The splash pan was extremely hard to get off and on and I did crack part of it but not in a way to make an issue. Just leave it on and clean it the best you can.

I ignored the 1 star reviews with hope. Look at me now.
The media could not be loaded. The Wheel has a wobble. It doesn’t seam much when you initially center the clay, but the moment you try to build up your walls, especially with pieces 6” or larger it’s almost impossible to keep the walls going. When I reached out to Vevor Customer Support they said “Eh, it’s not that bad, sucks to suck”(paraphrasing). This is a well known issue with these but I had just hoped it was either minor enough to not affect the product or I’d get lucky and not get a wobbly one. Pay the extra 50$ and get a different brand. Even if it’s a smaller wheel. They tried to tell me it was a skill issue from a video I sent so I decided to take the bottom panel of it apart so they could see just how bad it was and so you all can see what the problem is.

Perfect 👌🏼
Bought this to finalize my DIY at home pottery essentials. It's a great size & fairly easy to use. So far I'm very happy with everything & would definitely recommend this as a starter wheel for anyone on their creative clay molding journey 🫶🏼

Good starter wheel and don't plan on being a production Potter with it though
Not very strong, You might be able to throw 3 lb of clay. The weakest thing about this wheel is the plastic foot pedal. It is awful. I've had to open it up and reset it numerous times. That being said, if you're just starting out and not sure if pottery is for you This is an inexpensive way to try the hobby

Gift
This was a gift for my daughter who decided she wanted to take up pottery! It’s a very nice starting wheel. Very easy to assemble and use. She’s 11 years old and figured it all out on her own. I’d highly recommend.
