Fujitsu Image Scanner FI-800R

My Epson duplex auto-feed scanner finally died and I spent hours researching scanners before I decided upon this Fujitsu. I am so glad I got it because it is is the easiest scanner I've had (I do a lot of work in photos and document processing/editing/archiving- so this is my 6th scanner in 20 years). Once you have it setup, the software installed, and your preferences setup for one-touch scanning, all you do it put the documents in the feeder and press one button and done! I have mine setup to always scan in color, duplex and to output to pdf. It's just so easy. So far, I've had maybe two jams in about 100 scan sets, easy to reset. Finally, the footprint is minimal which looks great and frees up space. Highly recommended.

今回未使用品があったので購入。PFU ScanSnap iX1300は無線接続できるのが魅力であり、値段も違うのでとても迷いましたがこちらのアクティブプレス構造に惹かれこちらを購入しました。仕事の関係上、複写の用紙をしようする機会があり今まで複合機などでスキャンした際に詰まったり重複して送ったりというのがありましたが、この機構のおかげで今のところストレスなくスキャンできています。ただ、これに無線機能があれば何も言う事がないのですが・・・物は本当にいいものでした。

Definitely cheap and very loud to be so expensive. You'd think for the cost of this product it would be quite a bit more efficient and easier to use. It's very loud

I was impressed with the over-all build and ease-of-use, but once I worked my way through a pile of old photos I had scanned, I was very disappointed to see most of them had the darks completely washed out. Photos that had relatively poor lighting were almost entirely black. No amount of setting adjustments fixed this issue, almost all the photo scans are too dark. I'm basically going to have to buy a different scanner if I want to digitize my old photos. For the price, this is a huge disappointment. My smartphone does the tone-mapping better than the scanner.

I returned the one I received. Documents would not feed through the machine correctly. Several documents were damaged. Only feeding regular letter-sized documents, nothing unusual. Tried tech support but phone number didn't work. Website only routes to sales. When it worked it did generate good images but was mis-feeding documents about 40% of the time.
