If you have curly hair and want a lift, this is it.
Wow, if any of you have curly hair and have struggled with blow drying your hair upside down to get a lift, you have to try this. FIRST, it took me a few times to know how to use it. The first time I tried it, I didn’t get the results I was looking for, so I put it away. But then I started thinking about how much I paid for it, and I made my self learn. If you use a diffuser, first dry your ends a bit, and then a few flips side to side to maybe 50% dry, then I go for the styler. I start at my part with the styler pointing to the back of my head. Grab your bang area and twist it a bit towards your ear. I use a sock diffuser for this, because it keeps the dryer more concentrated on the area I want the lift. Then I do the other side of my part with the bang area, and I work my way back to get the lift from my part. (I roll the Styler towards the side of my head, I didn’t like the lift when I rolled it towards the back of my head). Then I use the diffuser upside down to dry the rest of my crown. After, what really helps, is I root clip the bang area to help my lift set. YouTube has many videos on root clipping. You will get better the more you use the styler. Don’t dry your lifted area too much, it will make your hair fuzzy. Good luck.

smashing success!
It took me a few looks to convince myself to purchase this but I'm so glad I did. It really does give tons of lift to the top of my head where my fine hair curls drop flat. Using a bit of gel along with a diffuser (low setting, warm heat) keeps the lift until my next wash day which could be three days later or more. It's so much quicker thank the clip method I'd been using for years. The styler material is really strong - some type of plastic resin. I've dropped it on the floor a few times, even on tile, and no damage. The prongs slide right in to my hair and it's super easy to remove the styler without pulling out any curl. I've dramatically cut down on the number of tools I need to travel to do my hair since using this too; just the styler and and small teasing brush for my bangs. Bonus - after meeting the inventor of the AuBonacci styler a year after I'd been successfully using it, she shared that they also have curly hair products (shampoo, conditioner, styling cream, UV protectant, gel, and finishing spray). Who knew??!! Tried them and love them too. The poo/condish and stylers smell awesome and held my curls without frizzing even in the hot humid Florida summer weather. My new go-to curly girl hair routine. Try it; you won't be sorry. If you don't love it, they have a money back guarantee so there's nothing to lose.

High price for just okay
For the price, I'd rather have a sample of root lifter and setting spray to try also. Serious learning curve with this thing. It does work..kind of. Some places are loose curl while others are crimped. It is sturdy and doesn't get hot while using tho.

Takes a little practice, but it's worth it
I saw the AuBonacci Styler on Instagram and was immediately intrigued. I have long, fine, wavy hair that tends to go flat on top, so this Styler appeared to be THE THING I was looking for. Because of the high price, I was hesitant, so I read the reviews and thought about it for a few days before placing my order.I’ve been using the Styler for a few weeks now, and I have no regrets. It has taken a little getting used to, but I do like that I can curl hair on top of my head, like I would with a round brush or curling iron, yet pull the Styler out quickly and easily without unraveling the curl. I use it with my blow dryer on warm heat with a diffuser, and then I give the curl a cool shot with the dryer before I remove the Styler. Because my hair is fine, it requires gel or mousse to really work well. Even with that, I wouldn’t say my hair stays curly after using the Styler, but it does have more lift and volume. I’m very happy with its performance. It works especially well for taming a pesky cowlick I have at the back-top of my head. The only thing I don’t like is that the Styler rolls easily when I set it down. Every time I put it on my vanity, it rolls into the sink or onto the floor, and that’s annoying. I’m also afraid it will break. I keep a folded washcloth on the vanity to set the Styler on when I’m not using it, and that prevents it from rolling away.I still think the $55 price tag (plus shipping) is at least $30 too high, but I haven’t seen anything else like this on the market. I guess this is the price we pay for curly hair innovation.

Almost returned it
I bought this in 2022. It sat there for 2 years looking at me.I had almost sent it back when I first got it. I don't recall instructions in the box nor do I remember what made me buy it.But I just watched a short video of the curly girl Mel.......ahhh that's what you do! So I used it properly for the first time. I have layers in my hair and the top one is rather short. I always curled it with a curling iron. The rest of my hair curls fine so I sectioned it off and just did the top. I'm sure it's easier with longer hair.GAME CHANGER !!!! I so hate curly hair. Everybody thinks you roll out of bed curly and voluminous. Curly hair is so much work. But this little tool is a keeper if you use it right. Today was my first time so it wasn't that great, but I'll get better. Even with this being my first time it looks better than usual with no curling iron.Kudos to who thought up this little gem !

Made in USA! Great for curly hair w/odd cowlicks!
I have 3A/B curly hair. My hair has thinned a bit in the crown which has amplified my large cowlick in that area which mattes down my follicles. This tool was exactly what I was envisioning. It gently pulls my hair out of the cowlick pattern with the help of my diffuser set on low air and low heat.It also is great with giving height in my ‘part” which I then pin with large curly hair pins for the remainder of my air drying and diffusing providing an end result that I love.Lastly, and importantly, the AuBonacci website states this is designed, manufactured, and packaged in the USA!
