Always had a good experience with this radio
I really don't understand the bad reviews. I have been running one in my truck since 2018 and it's now 2025. the thing is still going strong. My guess would be improper installation, bad swr or undervoltage the radio by trying to run a 50w rig on a cigarette lighter outlet.

Only works for a few weeks
Installed radio in truck and sounded great until radio warms up. As radio warms put Tx/Rx get so much static you become unreadable and the repeater becomes unreadable. Even when stationary. I tried to contact seller but radio silence from them too. Buyer beware pick a better radio and don’t waste your time or money.

Good Mobile for the price
The price is right for this Mobile. Easy to program with Chirp. No issues with it so far. I have it mounted in my vehicle and works as good as any of my other mobiles.

Not GMRS friendly
Unable to program it for gmrs.Proramming software never worked. And programming by hand was a nightmare. Tech support was not so good.

Great radio, but not for programming.
I purchased this radio for my mobile rig in my Jeep. I wanted something relatively cheap that would still output 50W. After getting this radio in the mail I first tried to program it using CHIRP. And no matter how many ways I’ve tried, and the countless videos I’ve watched, I cannot get the software to work with this rig. But you can still easily program channels manually. Also my digital watt meter says that my radio is outputting 140Watts on high on TX on the 2m/70cm band at 14.8amps. And 100W on low TX. Make sure you check the output power if you buy this radio.
