I could not recommend this book more highly
As a professor, former consultant, and someone who has served as a judge for dozens of case competitions, I could not recommend this book more highly. In fact, this past semester I made the book required reading in my management consulting course. It’s more than a book about how to win case competitions. It’s a book about how to present a coherent, data driven (yet cognitively digestible), strategic recommendation to a group of busy (often distracted) senior level executives.Even if you are not active in formal case competitions, I would still recommend this book. Why? More and more second round interviews at consulting firms (and beyond) incorporate some form of group and/or individual case presentation as part of the evaluation process. The tips and techniques laid out in this book will help you excel with confidence during these types of interviews.Lastly, the book will also help students prepare for summer internships. Many, if not most, structured summer internships require summer interns to present some sort of analysis at the end of the summer. One’s performance in these presentations can often dictate full-time offer decisions. Read this book. Incorporate it’s techniques into your strategic analysis. Present your final analysis with confidence and clarity and get a full-time offer.

Before my first case competition, I had absolutely no guidance on the do’s and don’ts of case competitions. A simple Google search displayed hundreds of different ideas on how to best compete in case competitions and I was unsure what would work. Not surprisingly, I completely bombed my first case competition. Soon after, one of my MBA peers (who’s had a tremendous amount of success with case competitions) recommended this book to me.From teaching you how to avoid wasting time on strategy selection to picking which words to never say during a case, this book covers it all. My favorite chapter of the book was the section on Building Slides. Before reading this book, I assumed I knew what I was doing with PowerPoint, but I soon learned that I was wrong. When we presented at our last case competition, every single judge told us our presentation was one of the best presentations they had ever seen. My team would not have gotten such praise without reading this book.I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn best practices for case competitions.

Insights to Differentiate and Win!
As someone who has participated in numerous case competitions and also served as a judge, this book provides some powerful insights on how to prepare for case competitions, organize your team, and analyze and present to win! I definitely would have benefited from this book when doing case competitions and this sharpened my analysis for judging future competitions. It also provides useful insights on presentations that any consultant, MBA, or case competitor would benefit from!

Read it before your first case competition!
I love this book! My MBA program gave it to us and flew out the speaker to give a lecture on the highlights. My team took second in my first ever case competition. Granted, the other three members were second year students and we had an PPT deck from other competitions to use as a jumping off point, but still... as the only first year on the team this book helped me understand entirely what to expect and prepared me to fully contribute as a team member.

If you think you are already in great shape for case competitions
If you are interested in getting involved in case competitions, but don't know where to start, read this book.If you think you are already in great shape for case competitions, DEFINITELY read this book.At the upper-level of MBA competitions, good ideas and presentation skills will only get you so far. The best way to stand out among a pool of elite MBA students is to dominate the details, and this is where this book thrives. The insights gleaned from this book played no small part in my team's recent first-place victory (and giant check!) at a major invitational competition.

Highly highly recommend!
Coming into my MBA program, I had very little experience putting together a deck or presenting to upper management. In the first few cases I did, I stumbled through and left out key details that I needed to punch home my points. This book really helped take things to the next level and gave me more confidence when entering the room. Since reading this book, I've won two case competitions and landed my full time job. This book helped both in the interview room as well as the cases! Highly highly recommend!

As a University of Virginia student heavily involved with case competitions, this book was a great affirmation to show that what we were doing is the right thing to do while giving insights on what we can improve on. Highly recommend for any new students looking to get involve in case competitions; although a lot of the materials may already sound familiar to students who are experienced with case competitions. The "Checklist" and "Forming a Team" portion of the book were extremely helpful! Great book overall.
