Not very straight forward to set up for a Mac
This is a very compact easy to carry back up hard drive. It isn't very easy to set up for a new Mac, or at least not for me who isn't a very competent techie. I had to get on the phone with my Son to help me set it up for my new MacBook Air M2. Once set up, the first backup was very fast for Time Machine. It comes with the cables to attach to the new MacBooks.

Awsome! Works with Android 😎
I wanted to write this review to simply correct information I saw in the questions and reviews. The hard-drive DOES work with an android device using the supplied cable and a (OTG) on the go adapter. Im currently using it to store/ back up media ie photos and videos from my Samsung galaxy s22 ultra and it works like a charm. With the OTG adapter connect the two devices and u can access the hard-drive via the (my files) app on the device easy as that no issues 👍🏻 I've seen several remarks saying it wasn't possible or that it didn't work and wanted to correct that so people wanted to use it for android knew it does work.

Fast, Accurate, Lightweight, Large 2 TB Storage
Nothing but praise for this external 2 TB SSD from Seagate. I hooked it up to my fastest USB 3.2 port of my PC, formatted to NTFS and made it a GPT drive all in a matter of minutes. It is fully compatible for Windows 10 and 11. I use it exclusively for storage and backup, so the portability of this drive offers is not presently used, but if I wanted to, very easy to do. I was quite surprised just how small and featherlight this drive is, easily half the size of a deck of cards and weighs a couple of ounces. Heat generation is non existent to human touch. The case has a small blue led light that lets you know it is powered, and blinks when it is being accessed. And yes, it is a fast drive! I didn’t benchmark the speed so I don’t have the raw data.It does come with optional programs from Adobe and Seagate backup if you desire. The price is still a bit high for all SSDs in general, and this one is fairly priced in the mid range, but it is from a solid, long time producer of drives, so it justifies the marginally higher price compared to unknown, rebranded manufacturers.I recommend this product and I would buy it again.

So compact for so much storage space!
I am loving this drive! It's way smaller than my last drive (previously I had a WD drive that was about the size of my full hand - this Seagate drive is about the size of my palm - even a little smaller) but it has twice the storage capacity! I also love that I can use this like a giant flash drive and just drag & drop files onto it without having to run backup software that takes an eternity. Granted, it still took an eternity to transfer nearly 1TB of data onto this new drive once I got it, but I just let it run overnight and it was done well before I woke up. I haven't activated the Toolkit software that lets you sync folders for backup purposes, but I don't know if I will or not. I kind of like just being able to drag and drop in the files that I know I want to save instead of having my computer hang onto backup versions of literally everything on my computer. All in all, this seems like a good drive. I'll probably be buying another Seagate drive in the future whenever this one gets full.

Excelente

Updated: Maybe not so bad
CORRECTIONS (original review below):I had previously posted that this drive was very slow. I returned it, and bought a different drive. That one was slow also! Returned that one, and bought yet a different drive. When that one performed terribly, I finally wised up. I decided to try plugging the drive into a different USB port. Lo and behold, super-speed! So my review of this drive may be totally off base. (And maybe the other reviewers who posted that their drive was slow should try this as well.)Both ports are supposed to be USB 3.0, but apparently they are internally connected differently to the CPU. Or else that port is just bad. So the bottom line is that I don’t know anything about how this drive will perform, but I would definitely give it a try if I needed one again.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I read some of the other reviews that said this drive was slow. But, I have two other OneTouch drives that perform very well for me, so I thought “maybe” they simply got a defective one. Perhaps they did, but so did I! I did an informal speed test by copying the same file to one of my other OneTouch drives and this one. This one was at best half as fast, maybe worse. A 100+MB file would copy to my other OneTouch drive in 2-3 seconds. This one took 5 or more.It also got extremely hot. So hot I would be nervous leaving it on a wooden desk.Needless to say, I am returning this drive. I’ll shop for something else, probably NOT from Seagate. I’m very disappointed in them. They used to be the top name in disk drives.

Solid State Speed
I am using this with a Mac and I have read reviews that criticize speed which has not been my experience. I admit I am not using this the way some users are (video, audio, etc.) I did transfer 23 gigs worth of pictures onto this and it took five minutes which I was impressed with. I am using this primarily for word docs and the like so admittedly there is some disparity in the way I’m using it compared to others. The only issue I have is the way the cord is. Slightly too short to do a lot with but functionality-wise I have no complaints and the capacity is great for an SSD at the price point I got it at.

Cheating customer with used products .Plz don’t buy
Kindly don’t buy any product from this seller .I bought it on 24th July 2022. Box seal was already open .I had ordered blue colour ssd but received black colour. That was still fine . When tried connecting the ssd to device it never detected , tried with both windows and mac . Then Tried validating the warranty on segate website it showed warranty only till 24th Dec 2024. This device is having 3 years warranty so ideally it should show warranty till 24th July 2025. That means it was a used product which seller had shipped . Now Amazon had 7 day return / replacement window . But Even during this window they denied return or replacement . So be aware you may also fall prey to this trap . Avoid buying this product

Brilliant little drive
An exceptional drive which is very fast indeed and cool running. It was very straightforward formatting it and then using it as a backup for my M1 iMac using OS Monterey. My only, minor, criticism is the length of the cables that come with it - 9 inches - come on!

Wouldn’t install
This showed in explorer but was inaccessible to access. The instructions are terrible with no explanation or help. Have installed fifty plus hard drives in my time, tried the Seagate website (downloaded Toolbox), disc management on Windows but still unable to use. After wasting several hours returned for refund. Now bought the Samsung equivalent and that worked straight out of the box. My advice is avoid this item.

Small design and fast transfer speed
Does what it meant to. Extremely small and portable. Very fast recall and transfer speeds. If you need a lot of storage would highly recommend.
