Q: Its it made in the USA?

I'm not sure. I bought it because it's easy to clean

Q: Will the seeds come out during heavy rain?

Not with the seed mix I use, which includes small safflower seeds. I've never put niger thistle seed in these. They may be too small.

Q: Will thistle seed fall through the holes in this feeder?

The holes in this feeder are quite small, I really don’t think thistle seed will fall through. The birds and even mourning doves love it.

Q: is there a way to mount this onto a metal in-ground pole?

This s a hanging bird feeder with mesh-like holes throughout for drainage. Doesn't have option for mounting to pole. Depending on type of pole you could add a wall-mount plant hanger to your pole for use with this feeder. Just a suggestion.
