Good breadth and depth of practical I formation
I’ve been finding this workbook very helpful in solidifying MI concepts and skills! It pulls together lots of information and gives specific examples and tools that can be used with clients. It’s easy to use, gives me lots of ideas about how to approach a variety of problems and issues. I think it would be useful to use when supervising new clinicians to teach and encourage MI use!

Good book for novices, not helpful for clinicians
This is a basic book so if you have a masters in counseling, you likely have these interview skills: “active listening skills” that are taught in graduate school. If you don’t have a clinical degree, this book offers basic skills and examples on motivational interviewing. It would be a great book for people with minimal clinical skills.
