Once the ink pad is installed the device works as intended. However, the cryptic drawings of how to change the ink pad require a vivid imagination. It was a while before either my wife or I managed to do it and both of us finished up with indelible ink on our hands.

On arrival found they were drier than the one I was replacing.

These refills do exactly what they are meant to! Good, long lasting refill.

I have an old personalised address stamp that I use for all my handwritten letters and cards and have been trying (unsuccessfully) to recharge with ordinary ink, but this purpose built replacement pad from the original makers is the only thing that really works properly. It should keep it going for a few more years.
