Works great. I have split quite a few granite boulders with them and a good quality hammer drill.It is cheaper than a gym membership and more helpful than a therapist!

Most rocks I can just smash them enough and they break. This one was so solid no pun intended it was like hitting solid rock. Including drilling time it took me 15 min to split this rock and evert wedge is still perfect . I was skeptical to be honest but I'm 100% sold lol

Had 80 pieces of 12 inch thic,10 inch wide, 1100mm long granite curd stones to cut. To make garden boarders. As disc cutting would have taken days, covered my hoses and garden in cutting dust and watery slop and also cost way to much. This time tested way was invaluable, each slab needed around nine 14mm holes about 75mm deep. Clean out hole very important. Then set up with the wedge and feathers, several hammer sticks each in turn and hay presto. I've now got 135 meters of 6 X 5 inch granite edged boraders to my garden. Thought I'd break or bend at least 1 but there hardly even worn in. Did use 6 drill bits though but even at £4 each well worth the purchase.

I spent the last 3 days breaking up South Australian moss rocks with these. They are super strong and very heavy. The feather and shims worked excellent. Attached photo shows the amount of rocks about 1/2 way through the job. The feather and shims have absolutely zero damage after the job was complete. Don't listen to the negative reviews, I have no doubt it was user error and they had never used hand tools in their life.

The included drill bit worked great. I drilled around 30 holes and the bit still wanted more.The feathers and wedges worked great - bands as well. Follow the instructions. Hole placement about 6" apart. Wedges in properly alignment - moderate "taps" - not pounding with sledgehammer - and damn! - the rock split. The rocks was moderately dense New England granite. A local granite shop sell a single feather and wedge (same size) for about $6-$8. This was a great deal with included drill bit.
