Q: How do you tap into the daytime runner and get the signal to work?

You have to wire the DRL connector to the ground wire on the headlight connector harness. To get the turn signals to function you have to do the same but wire it to the signal wire on both sides. You'll also need a resistor hooked up to prevent the either the front or rear(which ever you're tapping into) from not working or blinking to fast. If you have Facebook, there's a Harley sportster group that I posted a video of this same repair.
