Best Resident Evil game I have ever played with amazing nods to previous entries
Resident Evil Village is the latest entry in the franchise and not just that, it is one of the products that will help celebrate the franchise's 25th anniversary, alongside Infinite Darkness Netflix tv show and Welcome to Racoon City movie. I gotta say, THIS GAME IS A MASTERPIECE. It has an amazing story, unforgettable gameplay, different enemy npcs that have their own play styles making this game really intense for new and veteran players, amazing graphics and visuals thanks to the RE Engine and the power of the PS5 (same with Xbox Series X/S (even though I don't have the edition) and older console generations and PC).The story takes place 3 years after Biohazard where Ethan and Mia have finally settled into their new lives. Until Chris Redfield (one of my favourite characters) tears them apart. Not just that, Ethan arrives in a village, hell bent on killing him. This is where the combination of horror and action come together. You start off in some area with no weapons and its usual horror cliches until you get a gun. Ethan as a character wasn't that much loved in the franchise because even though I liked him in 7, he lacked personality. They just made him an ordinary guy who is stuck into a nightmarish situation you want to escape in. Despite this, I was excited to play him again. And oh boy, they did Ethan justice. Ethan has more personality in this game as he desperately searches for his daughter and alongside the journey he meets other people. The one that got me was the Duke, a person you may or may not trust throughout the journey. Hey at least he makes awesome weapon upgrades, supplies and food that will be useful for the whole journey. But the main focus is on Ethan. Throughout the story, you get to know more about him and you really want to relate yourself to him. This is why Resident Evil became first person since 2017 (not counting RE 2 and RE 3 remakes), it allows players to be more immerse into the story and also the character. The story also pays nods to previous entries, most notably RE 7 and RE 4. There will be times where you need to face a boss without a weapon, thus making this game more scarier. And there is a boat section with a large fish that brings you back to RE 4's harpooning boss fight. There are even twists in the game but I won't spoil it for you, that also includes people who have never played Resident Evil before. An amazing, unforgettable story that you would want to put yourself back into.RE Engine makes another return in the franchise (despite the fact that this engine has been used in other Capcom games) and because of the next gen hardware, it made this game too beautiful. The visuals are stunning. The graphics are so good. Because of those things, I couldn't stop looking at the setting, mostly the castle and the environments. The next gen consoles and PC (depending on the setting or type you're using) contains ray tracing. Well ray tracing isn't that obvious but I didn't care about it as I was more immersed in the story, the visuals, the graphics and the settings. The gameplay is what made this game too fun. RE 7 was known for being way too scary. This was the one that made me realise what this franchise really was. Well RE 7 still retained its horror roots but this game felt more action-oriented. Cause the more I got ammo, the more I realised I became unstoppable. Despite this, this game isn't without its challenges. There are different types of enemies and when I approached them, I realised I need to change some of my tactics as the weapons I use may not work that much. And that too requires lots and lots of ammo. The different enemy types makes this game more fun and challenging at the same time. And there are times where you need to run and make sure you got lots of ammo in case the weapons that help lose bullets and you need to change to a weapon that may kill a boss or other enemies. Upgrades also appear and doing so also makes this game less challenging. Without those upgrades, then the enemy npcs won't die too easily. The only criticism I would say is the number of crashes this game has. Hope Capcom fixes it. Nevertheless I enjoyed this game too much and I would consider it as one of my favourite RE games of all times. Congratulations Capcom, the perfect start to Resident Evil's 25th anniversary journey.

Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic Game Best In Franchise
Well what do I say about this game. Its Fantastic, in my opinion the best Resident evil game in there whole franchise. I played it for a few hours each day as didn't want to complete it to quickly. It came Friday night and it's now Monday evening and I have completed it. It took me about 10 hours and that's with taking my time and searching for things and reading the documents that you find along the way. I have throughly enjoyed this game and I don't normally rave about a game as much but this game deserves a good rave up. The merchant is brilliant and funny. The storyline was very enlighting and there were a few twists to the story line and the story was more explained in this one and the history of Resident evil is more explained. I played it on casual mode and there are plenty of weapons to buy throughout the game and a personal favourite of mine is the increased inventory space. You can buy 3 upgrades for the invortory throughout the game. This game really reminds me of Resident evil 4 the village and the atmosphere. The game made me jump lots of times as its a very jumpy spooky game obviously. The graphics were brilliant but a little to dark in some places. HDR and Ray tracing does a good job to.My personal favourite and good points1. Improvements on the graphics on PS52. Plenty of save points.3. Plenty of ammo which is an improvement.4. Bigger invortory with the upgrades.5. Plenty of weapons to buy from merchant.6. Game play time & storyline is fantastic.7. The bonuses after completing the game once is fantastic.8. Special edition bonues and steel case looks great. There are some of the good points of the game but there are loads more.So if you enjoy a challenge and love Resident Evil then this game will put a smile on your face. It kept me on the edge of my seat. :)

Immersive and Atmospheric.
Resident Evil 8 definitely met my expections which were very high due to how much I loved Resident Evil 7.Resi 8 is atmospheric, immersive and stimulating. The balance between being a horror and a shooter was just right. There are dark creaky hallways, abandoned old houses but also chase sequences in which you're running/shooting for your life. The games art style matches the Eastern European location in which the game is set. It would actually be a nice, cosy village... If not for the Lycans and the fact it's deserted. The game adds a medieval vibe too due to the huge castle that the castle surrounds. Definite Dracula vibes. Knight armour, red carpets and glimmering chandeliers. The story short but well paced. Once you know what you're doing, you can easily finish a 2nd play through in about 2 hours. An important note though: You might struggle to keep up with what's going on if you haven't played Resi 7. It's almost a direct sequel to it's predecessor. The game has an addition 'Raid Mode' in which you go through familiar areas you've seen in the story whilst fighting enemies, trying to maintain your 'chain' or 'kill combo'. At the end you're given a rating from D - SSS. Personally I didn't like this game mode in previous Resident Evil games and this time was no different. It's useful due to unlocks you can get to use in the main story but it feels more like a chore than fun.Overall I'd give the game a 4.5 rating c. Resident Evil 7 is still my favourite but this is almost as good.

Short but very sweet.
It took me around 9 hours to complete but Resident Evil games have never been that long. The story and gameplay make up for it though with stunning 4K graphics, 60fps and quick load times. Overall a very good game.
