Excellent, flexible fan for home
This was the top-rated household fan on The Sweethome, and I needed one, so I decided to try it out. I'd have to agree that it's a great fan.First of all, it's quiet for the amount of air it moves. It's certainly quieter than my Dyson AM05, and moves more air.The fan has "natural" wind" mode that varies the intensity of the wind in a pattern that is predetermined, but that seems random. My wife and I have taken to using this mode when we sleep; it's still cooling, but it doesn't seem to have quite the drying effect that we usually get from having constant wind on us all night. We use this mode in conjunction with the timer function. You can set a timer on the fan in 30 minute increments, anywhere from 30 minutes to 7.5 hours. This is nice because it's not uncommon for the temperature to drop during the night, so what started out as a comfortable amount of wind eventually becomes too cold by the time morning comes around. The timer allows us to have the fan shut off during the night, before it becomes "too cold".This fan also includes a remote control that allows access to all of the fan's features, and which stores conveniently on the back of the fan. We actually don't end up using the remote very often, but it's nice to have. There some ways that this fan could be improved:* The fan could remember the last amount of time that you set the timer for. As it is, since we usually have it run for seven hours a night in the summer, I still have to tap the timer button 14 times to set it. And it beeps every time you press the button. And I have to do this every night. There's basically no way anyone else in the room is not going to wake up when you're doing this. If pressing the timer button once would just bring up the amount of time you set it for last time, that would be preferable.* It could be easier to hit the controls when the fan is oscillating. As it is, when the fan oscillates, so does the control panel. You know what's not easy when you're half asleep? Hitting a moving button 14 times. It's easier to just turn oscillation off, do what you need to do, and then turn oscillation back on.* The remote could be more usable in the dark. It has an LCD display, but you really can't tell what you're pressing or what mode the fan is in without a light. All in all though, this is a great fan. Try pairing the "natural wind" mode with a thunder/rain noise machine, and you're practically sleeping in a storm. Surprisingly relaxing.

Simple but elegant. I love this fan...
I love this fan. I'm not only writing this review for this fan that I recently purchased, but also for the same fan that I purchased nearly 8 years ago that is still running like a champ. Last year I bought the new 2-fan set from Costco and they were crap; the larger fan has already died and is in the garbage. The Seville Classics fan seems more sleek, quiet, powerful, and just more elegant. It serves its purpose just fine, and has a great amount of options to increase convenience. I love the single push button for On/Off power, 1 of my biggest pet-peeves with the old fan was that you had to toggle through all power levels simply to turn the fan off. It's worth noting that the ventilation holes on the side of the fan are large enough for children to get their fingers through (I have a 10-month old). I don't know if they could reach the internals and hurt themselves, but you should at least be aware that this is a risk. I don't think this is worthy of a lower rating because all fans need ventilation to work; just be careful. My only gripe is the remote control for the fan. It's more odd than irritating. Pressing the buttons on the remote toggles through the settings on the remote, regardless if your fan is reading the changes or not. For instance; if your fan is off - you block the IR signal (it's an IR remote) and hit the power button.... the remote thinks the fan is on even though the fan hasn't actually turned on (you blocked the signal!). Unblock the signal and hit power again and the remote sends the "Off" signal to the fan, resulting in nothing because the fan is already off. So the remote toggles through the setting irrespective of the actual fan settings, which is weird. Again, not worthy of lowering the rating. It's a great fan.

Unnaturally effective
Listen, I only came back here to check how long ago I bought this unkillable cockroach of a fan. It was 2018. Seven years ago, I bought this freezing godless contraption for my beloved but sweaty husband, thinking it would make him a bit more comfortable. It has sat at the foot of our bed blasting a freezing breeze every single night since. We have two dogs and have never cleaned it. My toddler tackles it daily. My children have never known an existence without this fan, and I'm beginning to think they never shall. It will outlive us all. So yeah, if you enjoy feeling like you're sleeping naked on a freezing street corner, go ahead and buy this thing. Five stars because it unfortunately does it's job and makes sweaty husband happy.

Great tower fan!
Overall...this is a great fan! I like the design and the features on it. Noise level is great. Even at it highest level...the noise really doesn’t bother me. No weird rattling noises...just wind. The range is really good. Even at its lowest setting...I can feel the air from about 10 feet. Built quality is nice. Feels and looks solid. My only complaints are...when I first open it...I heard rattling noise...like pieces of plastic. Was able to get on out by shaking but not the others. I was concerned because I thought it might be been damaged but I set it up anyway and it worked fine. Still...knowing that there are broken pieces in there still bothers me a bit. The other is the remote. I have to press the button a couple times to get it to register. Also...there’s no light on the remote so using it at night with the lights off can be annoying. I supposed you could memorize the buttons but still...annoying. And lastly...the beeping noise when you push any of the buttons (even from remote). It’s nice to know that you pressed something ...especially when using the remote...but it too loud for my liking. I wish there was a way to lower it or turn it off completely.
