Ravensburger Yozakura 500 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle for Adults & Kids Age 10 Years Up

This 500 piece puzzle was perfect combination of beauty, art, and degree of challenge. One would get great satisfaction on completion.

A fantastic zigsaw, harder than I thought it would be, quite a challenge

I bought this puzzle to complete over the christmas holiday primarily because I was very impressed with the subject image. I also liked the fact it was only 500 pieces and that it was almost certainly going to be a challenge completing the cherry blossom sections. It took me approximately 5 hours total to complete and I thoroughly enjoyed doing it. The reason I have only given four stars is due to a surprising number of pieces had excess paper/card on the bottom and I had to remove these with a sharp modelling knife to ensure they fitted together correctly. I suspect the machine/s that cut the pieces needs its cutting blade/s sharpening. Other than that the finished puzzle looks amazing and I now intend to glue it to backing board and frame it.

I really rate Ravensburger puzzles as a rule, and usually find them great quality and exciting designs. This one didn’t disappoint on those fronts, with vibrant uplifting colours in the central geisha figure and a tricky background of cherry blossom against the night sky, but I was really surprised to find there were three pieces missing from the outside lower edge. I contacted Ravensburger who told me to speak to Amazon, but I can’t justify the environmental costs of returning the puzzle, disposal of it and the sending out of a new one just for a few pieces so will live with it as it is.

After some time after getting this puzzle, I decided to finally do it. I open the box, open the bag, start looking for the edge pieces.I collect them all, bit confused seeing colours that do not seem to match the picture on the box 😅And then I notice the poster inside the box shows a different puzzle to the one on the box!Slightly disappointed, as the return window has already gone past. The puzzle is not the image I would normally do for a puzzle and not what I expected - hence a lower rating.Otherwise the quality of puzzle itself is typical high quality that Ravensburger normally provides.Piece out!

A mother's day gift that was very well received. Classical Japanese images of bright cherry trees in the evening with lady in colourful kimono standing out from a darker background. Very appealing puzzle for older hands with Ravensburger high quality pieces being always a pleasure to use. So beautiful & addictive it might become a classic.
