Great for a retro buggy
First off if you have an older Tamiya, Kyosho, Losi, Associated kit from the 80's to now, this is a great replacement for the stock 540 motors and ever the hot motors with low turns from back in the day. That said you will need more teeth on your pinion to get the same top speeds, but battery life and low end torque are pretty good. I put mine in a Kyosho Ultima and its pleanty of power. I have also tried it in a Tamiya Rally kit from the 90's and it works great. My only gripe is the programming is kind of goofy, it will take you a few tries to make it work right. Also the power button wire is very short, I had to solder in an extension to get it to a safe place on my rear motor mounted buggy. for inboard, mid mounted systems its fine. The other cables are of a great length. Build it great, will an all metal can. Battery wires are just as good as what comes on a battery. Its a great motor system to give new life to an old kit, or an old design new kit. It also simplifies everything being an all in one solution.

Burnt out after 3 outiings
Replaced the Brushed version with this model. Son ran it hard the 1st day - worked AMAZING!Second time out - was running a little funny - but figured it was due to a battery issue....3rd time - the unit stopped working all together.now i'm off to replace the motor AGAIN - this time with a separate ESC !No help when dealing with the companyNot worth the $$

Love it ππΎ
I was looking for a brushless system that didn't take up too much space and I ran across this. It was perfect. I installed it in a small boat. A nice upgrade. It doesn't get hot. It performs great. Run smooth. And it's fast. I'm very pleased with the system.

Runs a lil hot for a crawler
And the vets polarity is a lil harsh for the burst of power for a crawler no 3s. Will not run it

Love these things!
I have about 6 of these units in different vehicles. Two wheel drive and four wheel drive they work excellent. I have had zero issues with mine. They are inexpensive and provide plenty of power for backyard bashing. I have found them to be ideal for restorations where I want to keep all the old radio gear in a car for that nostalgic look. They work really good in The Tamiya tt02 vehicles where space is a limited. The unit is easy to use. Itβs simple plug and play.Cons: no programming instructions. Not that they are really needed for a basher vehicle speedo/motor.Not capable of handling anything higher than a 2s Lipo. Not waterproof. I believe it is splash proof at best so be careful.
