A perfect shovel for Arizona
Here in AZ the desert sun bakes the ground year round, hardening it into a seemingly indescribable shell. When I saw landscapers using trenching shovels, a little light bulb went off in my head. A bit of research convinced me that the Bully Tools 4" model was for me.First off, this thing is hefty and well built. No cheap folded steel or second rate welds in sight. The handle is thick, strong fiberglass. And the handle end is nicely padded for times when you're driving with your palm for extra oomph. So far I have used it for digging a trench to lay 1/2 irrigation hose, prying up large buried rocks, removing two large sage bush root systems, and fending off one aggressive diamondback rattler. What a revelation! So much easier to use than my standard spade. The pointed tip goes into the concrete like dirt so much easier, and the back of the shovel has a "step" that you can step on for added force. I was worried that, being only 4" wide, the step would be too narrow for comfort, but it is perfect!Best of all, this thing is built like a tank IN AMERICA. Hard to imagine it ever breaking. I will be buying more Bully Tools.

This is the real deal
Wow, I can tell the difference in quality of construction with this trenching shovel. It has a solid feel and performs like you want it to. This is the first shovel I bought online based on others' positive reviews on Amazon. I concur that this shovel is worth the extra money and pride in workmanship is evident. I will be buying more Bully tools as needed and am proud of their American origin. Skip the Chinese cheap material, it's not worth saving a few dollars to get an inferior imported product and losing American jobs.

Not as great as you would expect..
Wow, I would have thought this was the last shovel I would ever have to buy. I usually take 2 trenching shovels to a job fearing one would break. This company made it sound like this one was the Cadillac of hand shovels. I might have used it for 3 feet where my trencher couldn't access. The blade went pop and broke almost in half. Looks like the cheapest white metal I have ever seen. I would expect this from China but not the USA. I suppose if you are digging sand this is a good tool. I am sticking with kobalt from lowes, lifetime warranty and don't have to deal with return process.

Great Shovel
Great little shovel, perfect for digging irrigation or the mud out of the tracks of the excavator. Sturdy, long handle and even sturdier blade. It should last for many years.

Cracked on first project
When it was intact, it workwd great - easy to maneuver, grip, and extract earth to form a trench. One of the reasons I got Bully Tools brand is because of the reputation they had for being tough and indestructible. Well i cracked the one. My goal was to get to 28 inches of a narrow trench, but only got to 12 inches with this.

Broken blade
Bought trench tool in 2017- used 6-10 times . Blade broke off. Wrote to bullytools, they asked if I had the original receipt. No respond to inquire after I sent photos of broken shovel.Update bully tools had written back after 10 day, requesting my address to send me a replacement shovel. Now I am a happy camper- thanks Bully tools
