this is great the dog loves it however going to need more balls
good product using as a launcher for the dog he enjoys it was shocked at the firing sound but soon over come it once he gathered he could catch the ball mid flight, only down side if any is the lack of info for replacement parts / alternative balls i did have a issue with one of the 25cm wires but was able to fix it pretty easily,

Not easy to put together
The product came with no assembly instructions. However the manufacturer quickly sent a pdf when requested.Over 200 small parts including screws .Not for the faint hearted!

Good starter project for a 12 year old
Good product. Well packaged and good instructions. Very sturdy. At £80 slightly overpriced though.

Great fun, but variable quality and some skills could be required because of that...
Let me start by saying that if the problems I will go into did not exist, this would be an absolute 5 start toy. The actual design is brilliant and my son loves playing with it. So I've started with 5 starts and then removed a star each for the following:This was ordered as a birthday present for my eldest son who is now 9. We started the build of it and got the the point where you bolt the two grabber arms that go on the front to the aluminium side bars. I should mention that this deviates from the instructions a little, as in there you have to bolt the arms onto each of the individual gear boxes, one for left and one for right before bolting them to the side bars. For the item itself they now already attach these arms for you so you go straight to the point where you attached the complete units to the sides... and that's where the problem struck. Though the arms themselves were correct in there being a left and right version, the two gearboxes they were attached to were both left handed, there was no right handed gearbox. There is no way they can be swapped round to fix this, someone at the factory had gone ahead and attached the correct arm to the wrong gearbox and it had then been packed up for sale. I was not overly concerned about getting a replacement as I know Amazon are very quick to honour returns with no fuss. However it was my son's birthday present so you can imagine he was a bit upset. Nevertheless I returned it and while that as being processed orders a replacement, the refund being credited to my account the next day. So problem number 1 over, but one star removed for poor quality control. The second star I have removed for the disappointing quality of some of the parts, primarily the bolts supplied. They look the part being nice shiny chrome and having domed hex heads. However the metal they are made out of is absolutely woeful, so be careful if one gets stuck as you can easily round the hex socket in the bolt. This happened to us and fortunately I have a Dremel and modelling skills so was able to cut a slot in the top of the bolt and then remove it with a large flat head screw driver. I also have a good store of similar bolts but made out of quality stainless steel so replaced a few of them. Going back to why the bolt got stuck, the threaded bolt holes cut into some of the parts are very variable in execution with some intent on cross-threading and other offering almost no grip at all... on one occasion I had to get round that problem by using liquid thread lock to keep the bolt secure.Other than the bolt issue the parts themselves are well designed and of an adequate quality, the aluminium parts themselves are excellent and nicely anodised in a deep blue colour. Once together the robot has performed perfectly and has been great fun for all of us to play with... I would of absolutely loved to have something like this when I was a kid!Ultimately I can recommend this as the completed and functioning product, just be aware that you may need some other tools and modelling skills to get there. It is an absolute bargain price for what it is but, to be honest, I'd rather they charged another £20 on top and upped the quality control!

Fun to build and use
Most parts are plastic with an alloy chassis - no problem with that. The little battery lasts well. Foam balls launch well - our dog has destroyed both, there are alternatives. Good value and fun.

bit pricey for what it is
Received this as I was getting bored and fancied something to work on over the weekend. Ordered on a Thursday, arrived approx. 15:00hrs Friday - Was built by 18:00hrs Friday evening. Pricing is a bit much for a small quick build. I will admit the instructions and packages are spot on - Easy to follow and well presented.
