Nice hood fan
We installed this hood fan in a custom made range hood. It works very well and is fairly quiet compared to our old fan. Easy to clean the filters.

Great Hood, High-End look
We purchased this hood to replace a microwave we had installed about our cooktop and have been using it about 1 month. We already had an electrical outlet from the previous microwave, so plugging it in was no problem. We gave it a test run before installation and everything worked fine. We build a custom hood to surround the range-hood. One thing that we could not picture, previous to our purchase was how the bottom of the hood would look while standing at the range. The finish of the Kobe hood looks like a professional range hood, the interchangeable grates and the finished edges look great. However, the range hood itself is smaller than the cabinet we built around it. To be clearer, when you are cooking, there is wood showing around the finished edges of the range hood. I didn't want to paint the wood and didn't want to worry about grease collecting on the wood etc. To combat this we created a stainless steel insert (to cover any of the wood showing from underneath) from a single sheet and then used tin snips to cut the hole to fit the hood through. The range hood comes with a finished cover, to house the lights and grill assembly, so any rough edges of stainless are well hidden. We installed a similar hood in our previous home with the help of a contractor to drill the hole outside for a vent. This installation we did it ourselves by purchasing a 6-inch drill "bit" to create the hole for the exhaust to the outside, an elbow to connect the hood to the outside and a cap assembly to finish off outside against the siding. Regarding drafts from outside the house through the hood. The range comes with a damper that fits in the top of the hood. Between that damper and the one attached to the outside assembly, there are zero drafts into the kitchen (even during sub-zero temps). The fan is VERY quiet on low, medium speed is noticeable and high is louder still. That said, there is no vibrating or obtrusive noise with it running on high. Set 30 inches above our cooktop, the fan moves the air very well and we have only needed to use the high speed once for something burned. The lights are a bit bright but, they are great for cooking. I do not think they would make a great nightlight for the kitchen. I hope this information was helpful for some of you, as I answered my questions while searching for just the right range hood, and we found it!

Good unit for the money
For the first time I had to buy an over the range insert and I had to do a lot of research about the types, what size I needed, install size etc. Some of the higher end ones just seemed so expensive for what they were. I just needed something basic for a 30 inch wide space, and this one fit the bill. I had contractors install it but it fit perfectly in the cabinet and did not hear of any install issues. It looks nice, the light is nice and bright, the fan has 3 speeds and I would say the noise is average, but definitely quieter than the microwave fan that was there before. My only small issue is at the lowest speed, it seems like it’s not quite fast enough to keep the internal damper open as it clangs a little bit. I don’t have that issue at the higher speeds. Most of the time we use medium and high anyway and the fan noise is very acceptable even at those speeds. All in all happy so far after a month of use for those looking for a good value for a range insert fan.

Perfect and great quality exhaust fan for in cupboard installations
The fan is solid with impressive quality and easy to install. There are 12 screws included to keep it more than secure enough. Other reviews stated the dimensions to cut the hole for the fan were incorrect in the instructions and this is true. I measured and cut the hole for the base of the fan 1/8" larger than I measured and it fit into the bottom of the cupboard perfectly. The top damper where the duct pipe fits is good and the damper opens and closes easily. The low speed is reasonably quiet, and with 4 gas burners operating the fan draw sees minimal bypass. If the fan could be installed directly over all 4 burners, I do not believe there would be any bypass at all on low speed. The medium speed does not have any bypass with an understandably louder fan noise. I likely will not need to use the high speed when cooking. This fan is great and there is no cabinet noise or any tin rattling noise at all, and it is just the speed of the fan noise and draw that is noticeable. Unfortunately there is only one brightness level for the two LED lights which are quite bright and the lights from them cover the complete gas range top. I highly recommend this great quality Kobe fan.

Quiet, easy to use
I was turned off by the fact that the lights were a bright light. But if you call the manufacturer you can buy. "warm" white replacement, which, is still pretty bright, but not as crazy stark white. My cabinets were custom built to fit this hood, so can't speak really to fit. The guy said it was easy to install. My cabinet guy failed to read where there were minimums and maximums for how far from the range it should be, and we're a couple inches more than it should be, so I'm sure if it was a little lower it may suck up more but it seems to work well even though. To the people saying that it has white scuffed up grates.............. That's the protective plastic.... You pull that off..... I'm not really sure how anyone can miss that.🤔Overall happy! Will update if anything changes down the line with more use. It's WAY quieter than my old one, plus it vents it outside.
