Yak-PowerYP-RP5W-OR Five Circuit Wireless Digital Switching System with Steering Wheel Control

First off im a Every weekend, every tournament, kayack team fishermen, and was looking for a system to not only power up my rigged out kayak accessories but also hold up to various fishing conditions. I ordered the 5 circuit wireless system,shipping was fairly quick, and was a easy plug and play set up. Worked great, no issues for the first 2-3 months. After the first 3 months, notice the wireless control panel was starting to cut in and out, loosing power to all my accessories and about anther month failed to operate. Went back to the drawing board, replaced batteries, checking for any loose connections and found none. I did find that the inside of the control panel had moisture, salt, debris and screws were terribly rusted. I contacted customer service and within a week they sent me another unit. Although it was only the control panel I was having issues with they sent me a whole complete system, which after swapping it out worked flawless! Two thumbs up... great customer service! Unfortunately again I had the same problem with the replacement unit, same time line, give or take, control panel failed again. This time after speaking w customer service they instructed me to send the unit in for maintenance so they can have a tech look at it. Which I was planning to but with my work schedule just didn't get around to sending it due to the hassle of shipping, assessment then the waiting game, with already having a rigged out kayack with no way to Power my Navigation fish/ depht finder, lights it has cost me heavily, it just wasn't worth the Hassle and time. For the price of the unit just figured it would have lasted a bit longer than it did. Disappointed because again yak power has always been a brand our team has trusted and used. Im now on the fence thinking about going with the 8 circuit unit, hard wire control but to dish out another 179 dollars on top of what I paid for the 5 circuit, don't know if I'm ready to take that gamble? Will be shopping around online for a similar yet more effective and secure control panel system that will hold up to the elements. Hopefully they will upgrade I can return to buying thier product

The media could not be loaded.  I rigged my Old Town Sportsman PDL 106 with lights using this kit. I will add more soon. Take the remote apart and remove the battery plastic. Make sure your battery is firmly connected. You otherwise won't know the device is on. Once on, press the power button on the romote, when it lights up press it again. Then you can use the switch buttons. This is also when you can sync the app. The app is not required for the remote to work, only for you phone to be a remote. The instructions require another app and are terrible to sit through. Just give us a PDF explaining it. Other than that, it's up, it's working, it's as I expected.

Remote did not work, changed the batteries several time and only the remote back light would illuminate. Seller was not helpful in resolving this issue.

I would definitely buy this again for my next kayak. I like it because I didn’t have to drill any large holes in the kayak to install.
