Worked perfect when nothing else would.
Broke 2 pullers trying to remove a ball joint from the pitman arm on my Ram 2500. A few rounds of Tighten, hammer, torch, rinse & repeat and the joint popped right off with authority. Excellent value for money, it's a tool I didn't know I needed.

Much better than pullers from auto parts store!
The pitman arm on my wife's 2004 Suburban was on tight. I was using my puller from the local auto parts store. I tightened the drive screw on the puller and was able to get it to turn using a breaker bar. I realized after a few turns that the pitman arm wasn't moving. The puller was bending! After a bit of research, I found this one. It worked great. Once I got it on I was able to tighten it up. I tightened the drive screw, pulled out the breaker bar. Nothing. I pulled out the attitude adjuster (mini sledgehammer) and gave it a few whacks, then tried again. After a couple cycles, POP! After that, it was easy to get the job done.Considerations:- after reading other reviews, I got a couple 5/16 × 5" grade 8 bolts and nuts to avoid issues. I don't know that the others would have failed, but it was cheap insurance.- this puller is bigger than the cheap one. On the suburban, the shaft from the steering box comes out close to the frame and the drag link. There's not much room even if you loosen the steering box. I eventually got it on, but it wasn't an easy fit.- the puller is heavy - that's why it works. Still, if you are under your car doing this job, be careful. You definitely don't want it coming free and dropping on your head. It didn't happen to me, but it did fall once and I'm glad I didn't catch it with my face. All in all, it was a great purchase. I'd strongly recommend it. I know I'll be pulling it out again soon to work on my 88 wrangler.

Seems to be well designed and manufactured.
Used tool to pull pitman arm from 84 C-10 truck. They don’t want user to use an impact on the tool but it is difficult to put enough load on arm to remove it with only a ratchet or large combination wrench due to steering gear turning. I don’t like putting pressure on steering gear bearings if shaft is rotated to the stop. I used an impact but just enough to load the tool. Hammered on shaft as directed, then impact used again. After 4 cycles of this the pitman arm came off. Tool worked as advertised.

Great tool
This tool worked well for replacing the idler and pitman arms on my truck. It also works well for tie rod ends and ball joints with the included adapters. The people that are stripping the bolts that tighten the jaws are using it wrong. There's a reason they have wingnuts and not hex nuts. They aren't supposed to get really tight, just tight enough to hold the tool in place. The force from the lead screw will keep the jaws in place just like on any other two or three jaw puller.

Lifesaver!
I have a car with a unique suspension system (Toyota SuperStrut) The camber control arm needs to be pressed free from the strut. The connection point is over 2.5" in diameter. Toyota requires special service tool 09628-62011, which costs several hundred dollars, if you can even find one.I tried various pitman arm pullers and ball joint presses, but even my largest one (meant for 3/4 ton trucks) was not large enough for the joint in question.I bought this tool instead of the SST. The quality of the tool is high. It's quite heavy and well made. It's easy to use. It comes with a couple adapters for the tip of the pressure screw, but they were unnecessary for my application.Within five minutes of use, I had the camber control arms freed from the struts on both sides of my car.If you happen to have a Toyota with SuperStrut suspension, and you cannot find the Toyota SST, this tool will take care of you with no issue.

Built for heavy duty. Worked when cheaper pullers failed
I bought this after cheaper pullers failed to pull the pitman arm on a 83 Transam. This puller is made stout and the pressure screw is solid. I was able to tighten all I wanted with a breaker bar. Very satisfied. Don’t waste your time or money on the cheaper pullers.

Superstrong well-designed puller
One of the most effective puller’s I’ve used. I had a particularly stubborn steering arm I was trying to remove on a medium sized John Deere four-wheel-drive tractor. I attempted the job with three other quality two-jaw pullers. They all slipped off after applying pressure. The OEM puller with the stabilizing bolts on the jaws worked perfectly for this tough job. This puller is designed to also remove Pitman arms, gears, etc. Clear instructions are included with the tool.

Perfect tool for super duty pitman arm
I bought this tool to remove my pitman arm on my 99 f250 and thank god i did. Broke my 2 jaw puller before buying this and felt like i didnt have a chance. I bought some grade 8 bolts to replace the bolts that came with it as others reccomended before using. But my pitman arm didnt stand a chance against this it pulled it with ease. After all the torque put on a superduty pitman arm is over 200 ft lbs so its on there pretty tight! Not to mention years of michigan rust. Definately reccomend this tool for the job.

Dont get cheap pullers, get this
I grabbed this after snapping a performance tools pitman arm puller, doing a front end job on a 99 jimmy with the stock arm. Was going to give 4 stars because it says it's a 1 inch socket, but was slightly too big for a 1, ended up having to run out and grab a 1 -1/16 but After 10 minutes and assuming I broke another puller it was off. It was worth every cent and if it can handle that, it can handle nearly any pulling I need it to

This rocks !!!
Well I bought this heavy duty puller and was unsure if it was gonna pull my pitman arm off , prior to this I broke a puller in half on my 2000 yukon. To my surprise it popped it off like a champ , I thought I broke it again but, pitman arm was off and no damage... well done guys !!!!
