Not as good as the old model.
I ordered this to replace my old Braun trimmer basically of the exact same design but this one has the two sided blades with a guard around the blades. It just doesn’t seem to cut as close as my old one did. I tried one of the cheaper ones first and had to return it because the ends of the blades were too sharp. I wish this one was the same as the first model Braun. It is well made, runs smoothly and easy to clean.

Impossible and time consuming to sufficiently clean the head
Others have complained about the head no longer working. It's because the trimmed hairs get lodged inside the blade, enough so that the motor cannot overcome them. Once you clean the head out, it works again, sorta. Most of the time it only recovers to maybe half its speed, which makes for awful trimming, and even worse, catching and pulling on hairs.Cleaning the head is awful. Hot water, tapping it on a sink edge, whatever - it takes much longer to get it clean than it takes to trim your hairs. Don't buy this.

Died quickly
It did a good job while working but completely died way too quickly. I had it for almost exactly a year, using it on average about once every 2 weeks. That means it totally died after just about 25-30 uses. That’s not acceptable quality to me. Yes, I tried changing the battery. No, the battery wasn’t the issue.

Works Like Charm
The nose trimmer works like a charm. I am not using the other attachment for the eyebrows. Trimming the nose hairs was very gently done and quietly. I like the feel of the trimmer. It is very sleek and sturdy. The only thing is I wish that it came with the case. But I'm sure that I can find something. I'm very pleased with this purchase. If you purchase this product I don't think you will be sorry. The price was definitely right.

Works well -- but only for a short time
When it works, for me at least, it works fine. Trims the nose hair as close as, or closer than, any other device. The problem is, its lack of durability. The problem is in the head assembly (the battery contacts, motor, switch, etc., all of which are down in the handle, seem to work well). But if you take the head off -- it's meant to be removable -- you can see how flimsy the plastic assembly is inside it that translates the circular motion of the motor to the vertical motion of the blades. And it doesn't take long for this cheap little thing to fracture. When it does, it immobilizes the whole device. If you read some of the other comments you'll see people saying how it just seemed to lose power and go dead on them, all of a sudden; but that's not quite what happens. It sounds like it's dead, with no power at all -- but in fact the motor still works fine; if you take the head off you can see it still spinning; but that little plastic thing, when it breaks, prevents the motor from turning at all, even though it keeps on trying to. Philips, you would think, could either manufacture better -- or especially, could and should design better. But then of course, they wouldn't have any repeat customers! Unfortunately this thing is too flimsy to let the whole device have much of a life expectancy; shame on Philips.

Updated, But Still a Quality Product!
This is my second purchase. The old one finally wore out. Hopefully the product will be still available when this one needs replacement.
