I have bought lower priced vacuums over the years, and when my last one died, I decided to go up a level and pay a little more. This was a great decision because this vacuum has many better features than my previous ones. It has a better on/off switch, better placed height adjuster, and LED light in the front. It has more power, too, and since I have three indoor cats that is important. On my first use, I picked up a lot of kitty hair off a large rug. I highly recommend purchasing this Bissell vacuum. I bought a Shark upright vacuum that had Pet in the name. Not sure what pets they tested it on but I'm guessing like turtles and snakes because my dogs hair instantly wrapped itself around the roller brush from end to end like it was designed to do that. Couldn't even finish one use before I had to cut the hair off and literally comb it out of each and every brush tuft on the roller. Back it went!I searched smeo more and read the descriptions and reviews a little more carefully and decided on this Bissel. It was $100 more than the Shark but was designed specifically to not wrap hair around the roller so I bought it.Very nice vacuum. It's very well built and everything has a nice quality feel to it. The canister pops off easily and empties easily without having to reach in and pull stuff out. The hose wand also pops on and off easily with the push of a button and the mechanism that holds the wand in place is sturdy which is important with these type of designs as the wand is also the handle so it takes a lot of abuse when using and lifting it and carrying it around. And speaking of carrying it. It's a high quality vacuum but that quality makes it heavy. It can be pretty tiring on stairs.It has great maneuverability as it swivels and seems to have pretty good suction. Gets a lot of really fine dirt out of my carpets that my old vacuum seemed to be missing.And I'm happy to say. Not a bit of dog hair on the roller brush. It all ends up in the canister and it does a good job of getting it off the carpet. Although with long pet hair getting it up is not the issue. Getting it through the vacuum without catching and wrapping on anything and everything is the issue and this vacuum handles it very well.It has a nice head light that works pretty well. The turbo brush tool is the only one I've used so far that actually works and keeps the little brush spinning as you use it. Most stall out if you put even the lightest pressure on them. This one you can use with normal pressure and it just works. The other brush tool has some funky course bristles that make it more like a scrubber and less like a brush. The crevice tool has an LED light in the end that comes on when you attach it. Kind of cool but it has a battery in it that takes up about half the diameter of the tube so this cuts down on the flow. So they made the suction end smaller to match. It works but I'd rather had a normal crevice tool. Also the battery inside the tube means it only fits on it's storage post in one direction so it's fiddly to put away until you remember which direction it has to face. More gimmick than useful.The auto cord retract is nice. This is my vacuum for my man cave area but my wife always steals my vacuums since the rest of the house is central vac and she doesn't always feel like hauling out the big hose and stuff. Fine with me but she NEVER winds the cord back up...or returns it for that mater. I usually find it somewhere in the house with the cord draped over it in tangles. At least with this one so far she pushes the button and lets the cord put itself away...but I still have to go and find it.If you can live with the weight and need a vacuum that can handle long pet hair this is a good choice. It works as advertised is very well built and hopefully that quality will give it a long life worth the price.

I’ve waited an entire year to review this vacuum. When I got it I did not love it, I felt it was bulky and not as strong as my previous vacuum. It does do an acceptable job.pros:-this is the easiest vacuum to disassemble, clean, and reassemble. I fully believe this will last the better portion of a lifetime purely because of the ease to repair if needed.-the light at the front shows every single pet hair and crumb on the floor. frankly, not sure i wanted to know all that.-several settings which is nice but not always something i need. nice to have options though.cons:-not the strongest suction. this is really why it isn’t 5 stars for me.- I wish it had more attachments. The two provided are helpful but I feel another, wider, brush style would be beneficial. certainly something you could acquire outside of this purchase.

Worked beyond expectations. I have 2 shedding dogs and this picked up an INSANE amount of hair and other dirt/debris. Rarely ever have to deep clean the brush, because it doesn’t get stuck like a normal vacuum. I have to empty it often, but that’s because it does such a good job picking up hair. I recommended this to my sister and she loved it as much as I did. Well worth the money.

I’ve had this vacuum for 1.4 years and I absolutely love it! My favorite feature is the self clean brush! It keeps the human hair from wrapping around the brush and breaking the belt. Our gas has 4 girls with long hair and three cats with long hair. But the human hair was a bigger nightmare than my cat hair. I absolutely recommend it for this feature plus it has great suction and I never have problems on the bare floor. I also love the attachment with the rotating rubber blades to use on cat hair on the furniture. It’s like magic! Only thing I wish is that this style had the hide a cordOr rewind cord. Hate wrapping it around the hooks but it’s still worth the vacuum.

I absolutely love it. This is the third vacuum that I have purchased #1 Bissell just pretty much wore out the second one was just way too heavy for me to handle. This one is perfect. Thank you.
