Works great
This worked on a 20" PSA stainless .308 barrel for a muzzle device swap.I had to clamp it very! tight in the vise but it held fine with zero marking. If the clam shells are nearly fitting together before you vise it down, go to the smaller size if you can.

Use rosin, it’s a champ
Use rosin. Works perfect. With rosin it’ll grip enough to get anything off. People saying it didn’t work didn’t use rosin. Seriously use rosin.

Practically useless. Bad design. Won't grab
The clamp does not fit the gas key on most common gov profile barrel (0.750).You can however, clamp on the rear section of the barrel. (If you already Loctite the gas tube... you screwed)Even if you are able grab onto the rear section, the friction is practically non-exist. Don't expect it is able to help install/uninstall muzzle device.

Urethane liner failed
Bought this product over a year ago and used it a couple of times with good results. Pulled it out of my toolbox to use it again a few days ago and the urethane liner had become brittle and fell apart after clamping it down. I was able to finish the job but have to order another one to have on hand.

Nice too, hit or miss on MCX barrels
Worked pretty good getting the muzzle device off my Sig Spear LT after boiling for an hour. Barrel did still slip with constant torque, but with some smacks on the wrench it came looseMight be as good an option that exists, but almost didn't work for me.

Worked good - hopefully will last a long time.
Worked better than I expected for removal of a stubborn muzzle device. I was able to grab the barrel forward of a gas block so gas tube interference wasn't an issue. Some forums suggest rosin to supplement the barrel block/barrel interface-used it and it worked.

Worked great!
It worked removing a stubborn barrel of a revolver.I would recommend buying some pine rosin to use in combination with this product.Very satisfied!

Works Great. Use rosin to keep from slipping.
Like the title, the vise works great. The barrel can spin in the vise even when tightened in a bench vise, but the solution is to use some rosin. That solves the slipping issue completely. The vise fit a standard .22 barrel, a .22 heavy barrel, and a .308 heavy barrel.
