I've read all of the Book Scavenger Series.
I chose this rating because (and I'm sure others will agree with me), this book seems so real. Emily, James, and all of the other characters feel so real to me. They live on in me, like how Errol Roy's books lived on in the people who read them.I enjoy a good mystery, and this is a great one. Take chances with books and you may just find your new favorite book.Happy reading!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊

Fantastic book with a great ending
My 10 year old son and I both agree this might be our favorite book of the series. All 3 books are very good but the first and the 3rd (this one) are our favorites. Takes a bit of reading to get sucked in, but once you are, you won't want to put them down.

A great read!
Bertman has done it again with another great installment of the Book Scavenger series. The puzzles and setting astounded me, with some riveting surprises throughout the book and its ending. This book kept me up at night reading it and once I started it I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it to anyone of any age!

Great addition to the series
As book #3 in the series, makes a good ending to the story. Greatly enjoyed by 10-year-old granddaughter since she had read the previous two books. If could be difficult to follow the story without the previous knowledge of the first two.

A puzzle competition at Alcatraz
This is the third book in the series. A new competition has been announced, one being held at Alcatraz. In order to qualify, each competitor must successfully complete an online puzzle. While James makes it easily, Emily struggles and she is worried enough that she looks for a plan B in finding a Golden ticket into the game. The two are also concerned that someone may be trying to keep them out of the competition as they receive threatening notes. But the real games begin once the gang makes it to Alcatraz where there seem to be multiple games in progress, and not all relate to the official game. As usual, the book is full of puzzles that the reader can attempt to solve along with the characters.

Life is a game and books are the tokens
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes and read the “Mr. Lemonchello’s Library” series’s. I like how throughout the the book there are adventures where Emily and James solve puzzles hide books and play games that James favorite author,Errol Roy, participates in. Particularly in this book they play a game where your supposed to ... so you win, and if you win then you get a lot of money from Errol Roy that will be given to Hollister’s book store ,which got burned in the fire and is going to have a big grand opening when it is finished. At the end James experiences shock due to finding out that Errol Roy was not actually who he thought he was,he thought he was just a mystery book’s author, but he plays another role too.
