It comes off easily. I did not care or it, for that reason. I drag one foot getting into car, and it peaked right off.

Q: Can this be applied to chromed plastic parts? i worried that if and when it has to be removed, it will delaminate the chrome plating! pls lmk thanks.

I bought it to cover the inside door handle of my car because the coating on it had split and was very sharp which sometimes cut my hand. It's been on for several years and is holding up well so I have not had any reason to try to remove it. I would assume however if you used something like Goo Gone to release the adhesive you would be able to carefully remove it. Keep in mind, the adhesive is very strong so great care would be needed.
