The Continuum of Literacy Learning, Grades PreK-2: A Guide to Teaching (Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System) 2nd Edition

This book is an incredible resources for primary grade teachers. There is one for older grades as well as one for primary+older grades. Not only does this help you level your readers/writers but it gives you various characteristics to look for and help your students with. I hadn't quite thought about this when I did my guided reading. I may have 3 kiddos on a level L, but they're all there for a different reason. This book helps you "diagnose" your readers and help their comprehension. It also suggests books that would be wonderful for shared reading that are on a variety of topics and has them leveled by their F&P.

My best investment I literature yet! My daughter is only 7 months old and I'm able to adjust many of the activities and ideas to meet her development now. Best of all, I can start preparing her playroom for her bright future in literacy.

This book is a wonderful support tool to any reading program. It helps the teacher to plan age and reading ability lessons to meet student needs. I highly reccommend this resource. Our district is now purchasing this text for all of our elementary school teachers.

This book has been very helpful with my Literacy groups in my second grade classroom. I constantly refer to it!
