Great product
I have used this oil on the same softwood fence panels for almost 10 years, reapplying liberally by brush about every 3 years. The results are excellent. It is easy to apply, dries in a few hours, repels water and has stopped any rot. The appearance is well-preserved although there is slight darkening over the years but this is not unattractive. Have just used on a new shed.

Oil the deck
Excellent value for money, a very good quality decking oil, ideally applied by brush or roller can be sprayed but needs a lot of thinning down. When applied looks great and seals deck, having used other decking oils at twice the price, this product is superb highly recommended

Good product - easy to apply - much better than water-based alternatives
We were really impressed with this product. It applied evenly and soaked in quickly. Much better than the water-based products we have been using in recent years. Previous reviews have mentioned smell. It does have a slight smell but you have to remember that this is oil based and not water based so it is only to be expected. It is a clear liquid but the overall colour is a mid brown. Got splashed with water this morning (applied yesterday) and the water beaded on the surface so it obviously does what it says on the tin ;-)

Excellent for new fence panels
Brought this initially to use on my decking. I did have a new fence as well to protect so decided to oil the fence first. It goes on very easy. It has the same consistency as gearbox oil. It gives the fence a permanent wet look which is good for a brand new fence but maybe not for a weathered fence. It does give off an oily smell as you would expect and remains for awhile. For that reason and the fact my decking is almost grey I'm going to use this for my fences only. I'll have loads left over ready to do again when needed. Excellent product- really impressed

Great Decking oil
Compared to Screwfix deck oil, this works out at approx £1.50/litre cheaper. SF stinks of thinners and this is good thick oil with no smell of thinners which absorbs very well, easy to apply with soft yard brush, great water repellence and brings wood grain out lovely. I also treated my wooden outdoor furniture which has also come up really nicely, And I've got loads left for next year!! HIGHLY recommended!

So far so good
Seems to soak into feather board fence really well and rainwater is beading on horizontal surfaces. When I applied the oil to one side, you could see it penetrating the other side. It goes on really easily and you can use the same brush if it takes more than one day because it’s oil and doesn’t setDoes have a strong smell after applying that lasts for a while. It’s not as strong as the old creosote smell but stronger than the Ronseal type water based fence paint. It took about 3 months for the smell to significantly reduce, but that might have been because the temperatures dropped in autumn as it smelled stronger when the sun was on it in the summer.Brings out a slightly darker than natural colour. It’s true what the seller says in the description in that a good way of seeing what the finished colour will look like is to wet the wood. You can see the difference in the photo. The tanalised featherboards had been weathering for about a year (since fence put up) without any treatment, so had started to silver slightly (see featherboards on the left in photo).I thought it would lighten up once dry, but it has stayed as dark for 6 months so far.I’ve only applied one coat and it’s done a really good job, but I think two coats would be brilliant. I plan to add another coat next year.I get the feeling that two coats will last for years on a fence. Decking probably a bit less.
