The Greek New Testament, Produced at Tyndale House, Cambridge, Reader's Edition

This book is beautifully bound and will last decades, even with heavy use. The glosses provide all possible meanings, ordered from most contextually likely to least for each particular instance of the word. This seems like a perfect system, both allowing for the reader to learn the full range of a word's meaning while also steering the reader away from unlikely/awkward translations. Some verses (eg: John 1:5, 'comprehend' vs. 'overcome') particularly benefit from this. Having a recommended choice from the editor while still being entrusted to choose your own translation is seriously important in learning a language as different from English as Greek and will lead to stronger Greek reading skills in the long term.As for the actual Tyndale House Greek text itself, I do not feel myself qualified to critique either way. I'm not a textual critic (just an amateur Greek learner). Do note that there is no textual apparatus whatsoever, so if you find yourself really needing that, then perhaps this is not the Greek New Testament for you. However, I don't see textual apparatus being important for most intermediate learners.

I have been loving using this Bible to learn Greek! I am currently taking classes and have been encouraged to find a Reader's Edition Greek Bible. I already have the ESV black scripture journal set, and this matches oh so wonderfully. Although, do beware, the heights are different so they don't align well on a shelf, but that was minor considering my alternatives. They still pair really well together maintaining the aesthetic I appreciate, while also keeping the Word true to time. It so far seems similar to those other Reader Edition versions out there content wise which is comforting. I will update this review if I find anything that strays content wise.

This is a well done printing that works very well as a readers edition. Other smaller readers editions exist that you might prefer to take to church with you; this heavier, hard bound edition is perfect for a nightstand. For me, the provided help materials are just about perfect to keep me moving comfortably, and the fact that it’s only Greek and not parallel text is good for not pulling me out of the work. Love reading this every night and would recommend.

I received product just as advertised Greek New Testament. Will use it for personal study.

The binding will not hold up. It is a beautiful reader's edition and the paper is very thick. I wish they would have split the OT up into multiple volumes to keep the quality the same as this one.

I like the book and it's easy to read. My only issue is that the NT books are not in the normal canonical order. I have to use the table of contents to flip to various books. I don't see anything on the description or the intro that explains what order the books are in. See picture attached for the order in the table of contents.

I ordered the leather version, but inside the leather version box, was a hardback book version, and a "welcome to your new ESV" card. Someone is obviously stealing the leather copies from the warehouse. I still gave the product five stars because this theft should not affect the rating of the product.Update: the proper leather version arrived 2 days after returning the hardback version. It's as gorgeous as I expected.

The quality of this edition is as good as you would hope it to be. A great leather cover, wonderfully thick paper, and very legible text all add up to a great GNT. The only thing to bear in mind is that this is not a small or light volume, so just bear that in mind if you are planning to carry this around with you all day. But it's size is by no means a drawback - it's just a result of how well made it is. The binding and construction are exemplary - highly recommended!
