Saris Bike Porter Trunk Bike Rack (3 Bike)

Wish I could give it negative stars. We used it only ONCE, the next time we tried to use it to take the bikes with us it was broken. We called Saris and they said that "oh ya, that part breaks and is not fixable". Called Amazon since it was past 30 days return policy and they allowed us to return in but not for the full amount so we are loosing money on that deal. We purchased this rack for a Buick Rendezvous, as the manufacturer's website indicated this rack would fit. We debated about purchasing a trailer hitch and hitch-mounted rack, or a trunk-mounted rack, and settled on the trunk-mount to keep costs down after just recently purchasing two bikes. It arrived two days prior to our vacation, but unfortunately the thick plastic panels on the hatch of the vehicle seemingly would not allow ANY rack to fit safely. While the vehicle design itself may have prevented proper installation, it would seem that the manufacturer did not confirm compatibility with this one. The rack did seem to be of good quality and it was a plus that it was made domestically, but we had to return it (and couldn't bring the bikes on vacation). Note that this (and likely any trunk-mounted rack) is not intended for use above 65 mph. This alone may have led me to return it, as that is an unrealistic speed in Michigan. We plan to install a trailer hitch next summer and purchase a hitch-mounted carrier, which would work with any future vehicle with a hitch and can be used at expressway speeds.This is probably a good-quality product for local trips, but I give three stars since it did not fit as indicated and there was no indication prior to purchasing that it can only be used at limited vehicle speeds.

Performs well on our 2014 Prius. It's possible to mount the carrier without opening the tailgate. Very stable when tightened down and bikes are held firmly in place. The manufacturer says not to carry more than two bikes when mounted on the Prius despite room for three, unless total load is less than 70lb.

Love the Bones 2 I had, but not recommend for the new car I bought so I bought the recomended rack as specified on the Saris website fit guide, Purchase the Saris Hatch Huggers also. Rack moves quite a bit after pulling all straps tight. Have not try to carry more than 1 bike at this point but will be riding with a friend next week so I can see how it rides with 2 bikes.

I was hesitant after reading reviews. I bike a few times a week....but not 'hardcore' as perhaps the other reviewers. My vote is that this rack is a good value. Easy to put on. Yes, the straps are slightly fussy, but nothing more than that. Drove a few hundred miles with 2 bikes on it. No sway. No complaints.

I bought this as Saris said it would fit my 2012 Hyundai Veloster with Hatch Huggers. It's easy to install however it does not sit securely on the back of the Veloster even after strapping this down securely. I was afraid that the support arm was going to damage the rear of the Veloster from bouncing. I wrapped a towel around the arm to help secure and prevent it from doing any damage to my car.

The Saris bike rack fits both our Mini and our Cruze. The order was received quickly and free. Woo Hoo!

Mostly unhappy with this. Use it on my Nissan Altima and it is very hard to set up right and I find I am more nervous with it on and keep a close eye on it while on the road, always taking a quick peek to see if it's still there.Installing it is a pain, every time I try I wish I had four hands. Two stars may be generous. Only saving grace is the straps and mounts for holding the bike are pretty nice.
