being honest
1st of all I would like to see Amazon let us know we are buying directly from China. I would like to buy locally or even in the United States if that is still possible. Made in China is everywhere now but even so I want to buy in the USA so I don' have to wait sooo long to receive my purchases. Okay enuff venting..(lol) Now onto the light. Super bright lights but very cheaply made. But you get what you pay for. takes 2 AAA batteries and and a sponge like pressure sensitive little button to select several flashing options. Safety belongs to the rider but these flashing lites can give the drivers (if they are paying attention & not on phones) a heads up that there is a bike sharing the road. I could have got this is downtown L.A for the same price. Next time.

Functions okay - but
Light seems to be working okay. However, turning it on and off can be "interesting". Switch is a bit odd. No tactile feedback at all. So it is overly easy to turn it on by just brushing past the light. Also easy to miss the off position when trying to turn it off. It may take two or three trips through the various settings to strike "Off". Also, unlike most lights, it arrived without batteries but the price was good so maybe I should have expected this. Guess I'm spoiled by normal shipping times from Amazon. Light was put in the mail in Shanghai and took two weeks to arrive. All these things are, individually, only minor inconveniences so I gave it an "It's okay" rating. Would have preferred something that was NOT made in China, but that is getting to be almost an impossibility these days.

Great value. I have been using these for over a year and they still work. The red cover is sturdy and so is the body but the clips that hold the red light cover can break easily. (This is not a problem with all of them. I have 6 of them for different bikes and helmets.) To fix that I use zip ties to secure the light cover the light and another zip tie to secure the light to a helmet and one to the bike fender.

Not so bright
I love this little thing. first of all, it has the standard under seat connector that you would expect, but instead of it being useless when removed, the connector is also a belt clip. Neat.the lights themselves are a bit of a disappointment. Yes, they have 7 modes, and the chase lights are way cool (if you're at a rave), but if you're looking for a bike rear light, this may not be bright enough for you. LEDs are very directional, back-sheilded to amplify their brightness, and even with all 5 running, aren't as bright as other models I've seen.Dropped 1 star for brightness. Everything else is a 5.

Multiple uses and frequent rides
Looking for a multi-sequence light and this one did it. I attach it to my seat pouch, my rack bag or my backpack and it is very bright and noticeable. Will definitely buy some more. 2 AAA batteries will simply last forever. I like that the clip attached positively, so if you jump or fall the light won't fly away. Other lights I had to put a touch of silicone adhesive to prevent the 'fly away'. Decent shipping time. Thanks ! For the front I use one of those mean 1200 lumen headlights.

Don't waste your money
I did read/consider all the reviews left by others, weighing this against the cost of this product. So, I expected low quality for low cost. What I got, however was junk...no quality really at all. 1. When opening the unit to install the batteries on day 1, the 'snap closure' broke...so now I need to tape it to keep it closed. 2. The housing contains both the battery 'compartments' as well as the LED piece...very flimsy, and I'm looking forward to it popping out and breaking when I need to replace the batteries (it did already but I was lucky to be standing on carpet at the time). 3. The light comes on all by itself with no help from me...and then must be coerced to turn off (after cycling through the settings to find the right one to shut the stupid thing off). 4. The mounting piece (to attach the light to the bike) is a poor grade of plastic...kinda like a cross between a rubber band and disposable plastic fork; the swivel piece (secured by hex nut and threaded screw) just doesn't stay in the right position...too flimsy...so the light ends up in a ground-facing position, which is useless to a commuter cyclist like myself.Final message - don't bother with this light unless maybe for a bike with training wheels...where you may be worried about pedestrians not being able to see your kid on a bike on the sidewalk at night...so...maybe never.

simple and inexpensive
I was not expecting much judging by the price however when I received it, I liked it a lot. It has 5 LEDs with multiple modes of lighting. The design is simple but durable (it does not shut off on road bumps). The ring that goes around the strut bar is too small so I connected it to the seat clamp. I would definitely recommend for someone who is looking for simple and inexpensive light. Probably is less likely to be stolen as well.

Compact and bright....
This flashing tail light has decent construction, it's bright, and the batteries are easy to install. The only issue I found is that you can find this exact item locally for about half the price. Worse yet, the local ACE Hardware sells this WITH the batteries included. So, you get the same item, 6 similar flash patterns, batteries already installed, and the price is about half. But if you don't have a hardware chain store near you, then this item is great. If you DO have a hardware chain store near you, then try them first and if they don't have it, it might be worth the extra cost and waiting time for this tail lamp to ship from China. Just do yourself a favor and do your homework first....
