Some Challenging Enough for an Adult
I should really give it 3 stars, but the mazes were so creative, that I have to give an extra star for that.My autistic son LOVES mazes, but his understanding level is around Kindergarten. Some were easy, but a lot of these mazes were too hard for him. They were difficult to follow because the mazes were so BUSY- extra lines and colors that made the mazes seem harder than they were. That said, lots of them were hard! There were so many routes possible that you had to leave your old lines there to see what you'd tried already because each route would really send you down a rabbit hole! (I'm talking about me here, not my son.) You couldn't just follow it with your eyes every time to see what worked.

Great for us
Very fun book for my son. He was almost 4.5 when he got the book and it lasted a few weeks until he got them all done. He really loved it. A lot of the mazes were pretty easy, but a few of them had interesting rules that made them a little more challenging. My son is really good at mazes, so I'm not sure if it would be appropriate for most 4 or 5 year olds, but for an advanced maze kid it was great as it did not require amazing fine motor skills like books at the next level typically do. Basically, the mazes were somewhat complex, but the paths were fairly wide. All of the other books we have at this level or higher have very narrow paths and are exclusively in black and white. My son loves those too, but often accidentally crosses over paths do to less mature pencil skills. I highly recommend this book for a young maze lover.

exciting mazes, recommend mostly for 6 and up
My four year old has been busy with this book for two days strait... a huge accomplishment! It's definitely geared toward an older reader with each page containing anecdotes or historical accounts. The mazes themselves range from difficult for an adult to moderately easy for my maze-hounding, engineering-minded son. I appreciate the full range as some can give a quick sense of accomplishment and others a great challenge. The mazes are imaginative and fun varying from history to food to adventures. It's a good mix and I think will take another several days for my son to complete. Most four to five year olds may find the harder ones frustrating... and I do have to read the directions as some require more than start to finish.

Grandson Loved It
I purchased The Everything Kids' Mazes Book for my eight-year-old grandson's birthday. He makes his own mazes and enjoys working on them. He wanted a book of mazes for his birthday. He was very happy to receive the book and could not wait to get started. He told me he enjoyed the different variety and themes of the mazes and their level of challenges. My grandson enjoyed the book so much that it kept him off electronic gadgets for awhile. My only regret is that the book was not longer. Once he finished the book, he returned to his electronic games. Now I need to purchase another book of mazes for him.

Another Maze Book??
A unique and enjoyable maze book. My daughter is 5 and a maze freak and she really likes just looking through the maze books to see which maze she wants to tackle for the day and this book has a lot of choices and a variation in difficulty. I put stars at the top of the pages for the mazes she is allowed to do. I would recomend this book to a child over the Preschool age unless they are very talented with details. A first grader would probably love the book.

big book!
got this for my 6yo who loves loves loves mazes. It is challenging. I don't know what the deal is with the color, or lack of it, inside the book. There are instructions like:' don't go into the light blue' but the book is all black and white and shades of gray. You can figure out what is supposed to be blue, but it is disappointing that it isn't actually blue. It is a good challenging maze book, with lots of different mazes, and it is a long book, lots of pages, lots of mazes, so it should last a while. I prefer the Maze Craze books, but my son has picked this one up many times to fight the winter doldrums, so it is worth the money.

could be better
I got this for my son who loves Mazes. I was disappointed that the mazes seem so bland. They are difficult and take some thinking (even I had to go pretty slow to do a few) but for a kids book this was quite drab. The mazes are interesting and each one is different, not for younger kids, they would probably get frustrated quickly if they are not really good with mazes already. All in all it delivers on mazes but bores on any color or levels for a child to progress in. The shipping took eight days. For the price not as great as competitors.

My 6 yr old loves mazes. the first book i bought him at the dollar store was very easy. This one is harder but he is still able to do on his own. It takes a bit longer. The write up/story for each maze is a bit complicated for him but older kids might enjoy or be educational for them. I would buy again.

or even everyday topics like food; and each has a longer background explanation ...
Loads of amazingly creative mazes, each with its own theme e.g. ancient Egypt, knights from the Middle Ages, or even everyday topics like food; and each has a longer background explanation as well as short interesting facts. My son has been learning so much while solving tricky mazes! Mazes are of different difficulty but I would say the book is best suited to ages 6 to 10 years. My son is 8 and sails through most of them but needs help with I would say one out of ten. I would recommend this high quality book, absolutely worth the money!

Fab buy!
A great book! My 6 year old loves this but finds some a bit of a challenge which is good as we bought another book of mazes before which was far too easy. Only downside is that it is greyscale and yet one maze said to only use the light blue tiles. Easy enough to figure out but you'd think they'd have corrected that mistake by now (it was pointed out in a previous review)
