Great book
I have read almost everything Louis LAmour has written I think this is the best. I liked almost everything he has written some better than others this one is great.

Favorite
Without a doubt my personal favorite Liam our book. I've probably read it at least half a dozen times. Anyone who enjoys a good western will love Flint.

A really good adventure novel with life-like twists
I used to find these novels too simplistic but this one interested me so I gave it a chance. I am very glad I did. This is a good novel with adventure and drama befitting a western story fan.I enjoyed it even with the protagonist having an abundance of super hero like qualities. It was still a good leisure read.

Tough man in a tough world
Lamour tells the tale of man fighting the odds, with more enemies than he knows of. Lamour's tales are enhanced by his knowledge of the geography of the area in which he weaves wonderful stories of the west

Great read
A great story. Told as only Louis L'Amour can. How many of us would like disappear and start over as the hero of this story does, but not with out his past catching up. Of course his new life has it's own problems.

Book was as clean as it left the Printer
I had a lot of Louis L'Amour FAUX Leather books that I got at an auction. I like to get books that are as clean as from the printer because I am going to donate them to our library that is in our small town and their collections of Louis L'Amour books. I am going to see if I can donate enough money to our library so they can have a reading room. I appreciate the care this seller did for this book and the others that I have gotten for my collection. Thank you.

another great story!
Although the hero wins and gets the girl in the end, the voyage from the start to end is a great story.

The real thing.
I enjoyed this book enormously. After discovering the exceptional McMurtry and especially "Lonesome Dove" I searched in vain for other writers of the true western novel, met some interesting fiction but nothing that answered to what I was really looking for until "Flint". It has all the ingredients any true western fan could wish for: a fascinating and mysterious hero, conflict at every level, plenty of action, romance in all senses of the word and a marvellous evocation of time and place. It is also, unlike some of its rivals, totally unpretentious. Nonetheless, there are complex issues explored and subtle plotting. Perhaps the storyline lacks something in plausibility - I'm not altogether convinced by the New York financier/western gunslinger alliance, but L'Amour handles dialogue with natural conviction and weaves a story that never releases its grip on the reader. I'm hoping that further sorties into the novels of this writer will be as richly rewarded.

Good quick read
This is a typical L'amour novel. One of the better Western writers, who was very prolific. Not in my opinion as good as the Sackett series. But better than his later or rediscovered stuff. If you like Elmore Leonard's westerns then you will enjoy these.

Great read!
I first read this book about forty years ago - my grandfather gave me a well-thumbed paperback copy which through regular re-reading has now fallen apart. For lovers of the western genre, this is an absolute classic, and I was delighted to find it on Kindle.

Disappointing from Big L'Amour fan!!
For three quarters of this book I was going to give it a 5star rating, good storyline, great characterisation and typical Louis L'amour attention to detail but the last quarter was very disappointing with a somewhat predictable ending
