actually handles 10A, no presets
Bought this after complaining about Amazon item B079LJF284... this one has better brightness increments near full brightness, but doesn't have the presets. I'd prefer to be able to go to full brightness without hitting "UP" over and over, but can't live with the HUGE increment the other dimmer uses. This one has reasonable steps and "slides" from one level to the next rather than changing suddenly.UPDATE: I bought more of these for a complicated project (upper and lower kitchen lights, but can't interfere with bathroom lights), and had to figure out the pairing procedure (poorly described in the enclosed instructions). Within 3 seconds of powering up the controller, hold the POWER and the DIM button together to ADD another remote to the recently powered controller. Then either remote works with that controller. But it ALSO works with any OTHER controllers you've paired it with. There is no way to un-pair a single remote, but the instructions say you can make the controller forget all the remotes... they just don't say HOW. The trick (by trial and error) is to power up the controller, then hold BRIGHT and DIM buttons for 3 sec. Now the controller only responds to that one remote. Took a while to figure out, hope this helps, maybe seller will add instructions?

Nice design, but does not perform as well as it should
I bought 2 of these dimmers to control 2 LED light strips. I like the design of the units and the ease of installation, but the LEDs flicker at any dimmed setting. Only when on full brightness is there no flicker. In addition to the flickering, when the LEDs are dimmed, there is a very high pitch hum/whine (sounds like; eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee) . It is very low in volume, but noticeable. A note about my installation; both of the light strips attached to the 2 dimmers are exactly the same, both are well within the load ratings of the dimmers, and they are attached to high grade LED power supplies. The point here is that the flickering and humming are present in both units, and that the problem is in the design, and not a one off bad unit.

PRODUCT CHANGED! actually does handle 10A, bad set of brightness levels
UPDATE: My original review (below) is for the OTHER controller, with only three gray buttons. This product description shows the controller (presets and red power buttons) that I did *NOT* like. Beware of reviews that are for some other product and which magically get reassigned to a different product. The screw terminals accept 12 gauge wire, and it barely gets warm running a 10A load of LED strips. (The power supply and the LEDs get hot, but not this dimmer!) I knocked off a star because there are very few selectable brightness levels. Buttons for 100/50/25/10% work fine. The +/- buttons only access ONE brightness level between 50 and 100%, and ONE brightness level between 50 and 25%. The other levels are crowded down around 10%, a really odd choice. I've asked the seller if the brightness steps can be changed, and will update if they reply.UPDATE: Seller says "This controller has 10 levels. The percentage of the 10 levels are 100%, 56%, 26%, 15%, 8%, 5.6%, 3.7%, 2.3%, 1.6% and 1% respectively." That means the first step down from full brightness is half power, and the 50% button actually is one fourth power. FYI. I don't like these presets, but maybe you will. The REAL problem is that the +/- buttons don't do 10% or 5% increments, they step between the levels listed.UPDATE 2: See Amazon item B079MGT1RJ if you want better light levels. No presets, and I had to buy another dimmer, but the seller was correct that the other model does have more levels near full brightness.

Wiring Changes Made the Differnce
UPDATE 6/16/2019I received a follow up letter from the seller that verified my suspicion that I could not connect the LED lights Negative side to the battery negative common ground. Started another way - you cannot connect the input battery negative side to the output negative side of the dimmer and then connect the LEDs to the battery negative. This prevents the dimmer from operating. After much work to allow me to disconnect the common negative ground on the LED side, I was able to get the dimmer to work perfectly as expected. There is no "shaking" or pulsing observed in the lights - and the lights did not appear to "yellow" as they were dimmed as my previous older unit had done. So I am now pleased to report that this dimmer works very well and can be recommended.I used this dimmer to control a set of 12V DC overhead LED "flood lights" of low wattage on our boat. The LED lights replaced older 20W Halogen bulbs (qty of 6 of them) that became dangerously hot. The boat wiring had the lights on a common negative ground that was hard to trace back and disconnect. Once that was done, a new LED negative side connection direct to the dimmer output gave the desired results. This issue is never a problem for simple LED Strip lights but I used this dimmer "off application" and found it could work very well if wired correctly.

Simple is best
I bought two of these to replace HitLights controllers (CTR-R106S), one of which had become very erratic after about 2 years. I needed to buy some plug/jack pigtails to hook these Spightdex controllers up conveniently. (RGBZONE male/female power cables) These controllers are for single-color LED strips. The remote doesn't have all the whacky flashing modes of the HitLights and I never wanted those anyway. These just have on/off and dim. The dimmer has very gradual steps. You have very fine control of how much light you get. The only problem I had was that when I first hooked one of these up, the range and reliability of that remote was very poor. This just fixed itself within a day, and has been perfect ever since. I've had these about 3 weeks now.
