Perfect replacement door for the window unit
We purchased the window unit for our cats to use to come in and the basement several years ago, and over the years the door lock had broken and the door was getting stuck open and no longer weather proof. This was so easy to use as a replacement, just unscrewed the old door, which is identical in size to this one, and popped the new one in and secured with the screws. The new lock seems to be a bit tighter and more difficult to turn than the old one, but it works fine. The window unit itself has held up well, but we did add some foam weather stripping around the edges because it gets cold. Overall we’ve had a great experience with the Pet Safe cat door!

Lock mechanism is easy to break.
This was installed for a few hours when my cat pushed on it and it came unlocked. It works really well and a normal cat door. It’s a lot quieter than others we’ve tried over the years.

Great solution as an indoor door
Very easy to install. It took my cat two days to figure it out, but she may not be the brightest. Used on interior door, locks both ways and flap swings well. Only minor con is the magnet at the bottom that makes the door a little harder for her to open. You need that magnet for use as an outer door, but it's just a nuisance for the interior door. Would be better if the magnet was something you could choose to add or not. I tried to pry it out, but had no luck. That's why I am giving this four instead of five stars.

Saved our sanity!!
We were at our wits end about what to do with our cat who wanted in and out of our bedroom all day and all night long. We installed this cat door the minute it came in the mail and it has truly been one of the best things we have ever bought! It took my husband about 30-45 minutes to get it in the door. He said it went in pretty easily and did not seem to have any problems. The door is kindof a smoky brown which is completely transparent - something to keep in mind if you are concerned about privacy. It can also be easily locked in several different ways.It is perfect for our cat. It took her about 15 minutes to get used to going in and out and she seems to be as relieved to have it as we are. We hardly ever hear her coming or going (which was a big concern because of our very light sleeping baby in the next room). I would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy way to solve the in and out problem with their cat.

Lack of Information
Well, I was certainly surprised when I discovered that this door is manufactured to fit *thick*doors (luan, etc.) and not the classic two-paneled interior doors throughout my home. Now I have to figure out how to rig it so that I can use it. I may have to shim the other side of the door so that I can screw the front frame (from which the door hangs) to it, and discard the back frame. The packaging takes great care to tell us the dimensions of the door, height and width, but not the fact that the front and back frame parts need an inch-thick door between them......Otherwise, the product is sturdy and attractive -- and has a latch that allows in-only, out-only, in-and-out, and locked/closed settings. The swinging door is smoky translucent so that kitty can see through -- and you can see kitty waiting impatiently for you to unlock it...

LOVE
I love these cat doors due to the ways they can be locked. My son has one on his door, and there is one on my door. We will be installing more soon. At night I keep it locked so the cats can't come into my room but if they are in here and I don't see them, they can't get back in when they leave. My son will lock his cat in his room so the others can't annoy her. The cats will run into the doors, paw at the doors, and try to get in but we have never had an issue. They are pretty easy to install as well. I can't say how these would work for an indoor/outdoor cat, but if you want to put these inside, look no further! A lot cheaper here than getting them at the pet store, too.

Looks good, works fine except for locking mechanism
I would absolutely love this door....except the lock can easily be knocked down into one of the locked settings by my cat going in or out and has blocked him from where he needs to go. : (

"Plop!" Smokie's home!
Works great, not too difficult to install. Cat took to it very easily within the 1st couple days. We have it set so she can come IN only. It's cute how she waits, looking out the clear door when she wants to be let out. She can come back in whenever she's ready, which is usually within a couple hours after she stalks lizards & baby birds & pretends to patrol the property. Lol. Soooo much easier than having to leave the (main) door propped open for her, which lets in flies & mosquitoes, etc. It makes a soft "plop" sound when she comes back in & seals well behind her.

Meets our needs well
We're using this door for an internal door (into the Laundry where the CatGenie is located) and it works perfectly for that.Installation was simple and complete in 30 minutes after borrowing my brother-in-law's jigsaw, I will mention that the screws were VERY difficult to tighten and I was concerned they were going to crack the plastic, so I got a very small headed Phillips and made the holes fractionally larger, they were still very tight but I managed to tighten them without the plastic cracking or the heads being stripped. Also, I thought the locking mechanism was a little too easy to lock so I covered it with a small piece of tape, I could see my cat would easily lock it when climbing through otherwise. On the whole I'm please, and it does the job for what I want. The cat is already jumping through it without hesitation.

Solid Cat Door!
I looked at several cat doors, and also had another one previously installed. Most of them are wonky but this one is solidly built, very well-designed, and functions very nicely -- smooth opening/closing, and the magnet makes sure it closes back in perfect alignment. The 4-way locking mechanism is also very well-designed, not flimsy lop-sided tabs, but rather a central sturdy locking mechanism. Very happy with this product. Whoever designed it did a great job and really thought things through and probably also iteratively refined the design from real-world usage.

This product arrives with no parts sheet or install instructions.
You don't need to be a genius to install the door but there is probably a code in the 4 little pics on the lower edge but I couldn't figure it out. So far, our furbaby (7yrs old) has decided he wants one of us to hold the flap up so he can go through without it dropping down on his tail. Helpful suggestions would be appreciated, for now we shall just keep trying to help him go through more quickly and not leave his tail behind as a flap target, lol.

My car figured out how to open the lock
Had to replace with a different style door as my cat figured out how to open the lock on this almost instantly. Otherwise the construction was sturdy and it was easy to install.

it does the job but the security lock doesn't work well
The cat flap does the job, my cat seems to go through it comfortably and it wasn't difficult to install however the security system doesn't work well and in order to change its position we need to have the door open and hold it in the right spot with both hands.. pretty unpractical as it should be easy to lock and unlock the door simply by moving the red mechanism at the bottom of the door and while the door is shut.Overall I am not that satisfied by the door
