I was surprised with how well made this chair is. Finish was darker and slightly more red than expected. Make sure you have a rubber mallet similar to seat the wheels and the hardware “beauty plugs” included with the kit. Some of the plugs did not want to fully seat, so I used a drop of wood glue to keep them in place. Purely cosmetic. Chair is comfortable and sturdy.Assembly took about 30 minutes. When assembling, leave the bolts somewhat loose until all are installed, then tighten. When tightening, stop after about a 1/2 turn after sharp rise in torque with included tool.I went with a packing damaged “very good” condition for a hefty discount. I was very very pleased with the condition and packing of the item regardless of how mangled the box looked.

this was easy to assemble. there were a couple of flaws in the wood but was able tocorrect it with a furniture marker. I did not have the same issues as others with broken or cracked wood. i have a smaller desk is in my dinning room/kitchen area that needed something that looked more like a piece of furniture than office equipment. This is perfect. Looks antique-ish and really finished the look so my area doesn't look sloppy. although i gave it 5 stars for comfort, i may update this... i do not work from home until tomorrow! we'll see how 8 hours of sitting in it works out but sitting it in briefly over the weekend it was very comfortable! the price is reasonable... i had seen "real" antique bankers chairs go for $2000-$4000 on line. less than $200 fits my budget and looks great!!!***update***8 hours of comfort!!! Love it!!!

First chair arrived with shipping box in horrible condition. Took pics before opening in case contents were damaged. After opening box, instantly realized they sent me a RETURNED ITEM! It was the wrong box too so they knew it was a return. Everything in box was previously opened, hardware box empty with nuts and bolts loose in shipping box. Returned of course. Second chair came in proper box and brand new. Now to the assembly. It was pretty straight forward as far as instructions go, BUT - NONE of the holes in the wood line up correctly! I fought the seat back mounting to the base for awhile. Had to put only 2 threads started at a time and tap back and forth to get a second bolt started and so on. Came very close to stripping a couple of them. Next, the arms were almost impossible. Finally, was able to start 2 threads where arm mounted to back and then pull as hard as I could to get a bolt started where it mounts to the seat. I'm no weakling, routinely do heavy lifting but this took most of my strength to line up those holes. Both arms were equally difficult. Everything else was a piece of cake. Once assembled, I really like the chair, classic old school style, very well constructed. Not plush but comfortable.

It's very comfortable, and has been solid the 8 months since purchase. Gives no indication of future issues. Also, the color is true to the pictures. Matches the desks it was selected for very closely.

The chair looks nice and assembled easily. However, I quickly changed the castors with roller blade style castors as the ones that came with the chair are cheap and do not work well. Over the 2 years of infrequent use, I would notice the air would start to release from the strut which makes the chair go up or down. In this case, making the chair go down. This became more frequent where almost every time I sat in the chair it would just sink down to it’s lowest level, requiring me to stand, operate the lever to raise the chair then sit again only for it to start sinking once again. I took the chair apart and it’s evident that the strut cannot be replaced as it is pushed into the seat base housing and not screwed in - it’s a very tight push fit and to lever it out would require more than just a screwdriver. Also, I found that the ball bearing “chase” to help the chair swivel was broken. There appears to be no easy way to contact the Seller so this seems to be a $200+ write-off.

Pretty chair and matches very well with my computer desk. I put it together myself and I’m not overly mechanically inclined. Some of the washers had fallen out of the smaller box but were still located inside the bigger box. The instructions were easy to follow and all the parts were included. The chair is comfortable and the lever easily adjusts the height.

I wanted an office chair that would fit in my small office space.. I saw this chair, and took a chance that it would work. Once it was received I could see. It was packaged well heavy so be careful when lifting. I recommend to get a helper. Once opened I placed all the parts out to assemble I had it together in less than an hour. The directions are simple to read I love the fact that it works with my decor and doesn’t seem like an afterthought. I would have to say that you might want to get a small cushion to put in the bottom because after a while it does get kind of tiring on the bottom I think it was a good purchase . My con is that the back support is a little bit lower than I would prefer but other than that. It’s a perfect size. You can adjust the height, it haas wheels which I like and it. Is sturdy. This office chair was worth the price. The back of the chair matches my dining room set so if I need an extra setting it’s versatile enough that I could use it at my table the appearance of this chair makes it look more expensive than what I paid I’m very pleased and would recommend this item

Overall I am somewhat satisfied with this chair. My two complaints: It is not very comfortable to sit in for long periods (maybe that is par for the course for a wood banker's chair?), and second, the casters are terrible and cheap. They do not swivel properly even on my smooth, vinyl plank floor, and the plastic wheels are already rough after only 1 year of use and do not roll. Most of the time the casters slide rather than swivel or roll. I replaced the casters with new ones that have good, ball bearing swivels and 'roller blade' quality wheels. These roll effortlessly.

This chair is so well made. Looks great & Very impressive

Love it. It fits well in our nautical-themed family room, was reasonably priced and reasonably easy to assemble.

Hallo!Ich wollte was zu dem angebotenen Schreibtischstuhl schreiben.Der Stuhl ließ sich für mich als Handwerker relativ schnell zusammenbauen.Auch als nicht Handwerker sollte das gut zu schaffen sein.Optisch gefällter er mir sehr gut, er passt vom Stiel her sehr gut in mein Office.Er hat so ein bisschen was von Wild West. Deswegen habe ich ihn auch ausgesucht.Je nach Fußbodenbelag könnte man höchstens die Rollen etwas verbessern.Sie sind aber dem Stuhlpreis entsprechend und könnten zu Not auch problemlos durch Schreibtisch Stuhlrollen von Amazon ersetzt werden. Wenn man denn mit dem Stuhl auch „Bürorennen“ fahren will. 😉Die Lieferung war relativ zügig da. 5 Tage.Am Verpackungsmaterial könnte man vielleicht etwas rummäkeln. Teilweise Styropor, das Krümelt. Aber das ist schon alles.Nun bin ich in den nächsten Wochen gespannt wie haltbar der Stuhl ist. Wenn er oder irgendwelche Schraubverbindungen brechen, werde ich das Berichten.Versprochen!Ich muss sagen, dass mich die teilweise schlechte Kritik etwas abgeschreckt hat.Was ich aber bisher nicht bestätigen kann.Gruß aus KielStond

Had some difficult with assembly while doing it alone but finished product is comfortable and looks great!
