GiroHale MIPS Bike Helmet - Kid's

I generally think that MIPS is worth the extra expense. This is a quality helmet with nice adjustments.No matter what you choose...at least choose ANY helmet over no helmet at all.

Excellent quality and worth the money. Adjusts very easy for our toddler and is comfortable for him. He loves the look, color, and actually wants to wear it.

the visor sometimes pops off when we toss the helmet in a bin. would prefer magnetic buckles. excess strap is a bit dangly on my 4&6 yo.but still 5 stars for great protection, lightweight, good ventilation, kiddos like them.

Great, stylish helmet. MIPS technology is awesome! I picked these up from my niece and nephew and got one for my daughter as well.

The pink matte is pretty and the helmet is very lightweight. It has lots of vents. We got it because we thought Giro was a good name and we wanted the MIPS protection and the visor. My daughter is 3 months away from being 8 years old, and her head is 53 cm, well within the "universal" fit range. But we can't get it to fit tightly enough on her to wear it.First, the written instructions are very poorly written and not helpful. They come in about 100 languages, but I bet they're just as unhelpful in each one. They are written generically across all their helmets and not specific to this kids' helmet. And the only video I could find by Giro was ONLY for the adult helmets. It shows an adjustment not available on the kids' helmet.As near as I can tell, thanks to other reviewers on YouTube showing the kids' version of the helmet, this helmet lacks the traditional adjustment for under the ears. Instead, the Y where the straps come together under the ears is just sewed on and not adjustable, which lots of reviewers like because then the straps stay even and they don't have to mess with that adjustment. Unfortunately, that means you can't adjust the chin strap up past where those straps are sewn, so we couldn't get it tight enough on my daughter.(And we discovered this one day past the return date... my bad, but soooo frustrating to be well within the fit range and find out the helmet doesn't actually fit.)

We bought this for our 3 year old son to go along with a new Strider 14X balance bike. The color of the helmet matched the bike and the features were the real draw. First off, it's lightweight and the vents provide cooling– my son rides his bike all around our condo complex and never complains about feeling hot or the helmet being too heavy. He has long curly hair and it never gets caught in any of the parts or straps so that's a plus as well. The helmet looks like it safely covers his head and it fits him exceptionally well. It is well worth the money to have peace of mind knowing that if he ever takes a tumble off of his balance bike his head will be safe. The Giro measurements on their website were accurate. Do not hesitate to buy this helmet. Highly recommended!

I’m very pleased with this helmet. It’s lightweight and has a lot of openings which help keep my son cooler than other helmets he’s owned have. We live in a warm climate so it definitely makes a difference. He is soon to be 7 and it fits him well and will continue to fit for years to come. He can be a bit of a daredevil on his scooter, particularly inside on our tile floors, so I’m happy to have spent a little more for the excellent protection this helmet provides him.

I like the buckle from the non mips version much better. The one from non mips version is easier to release.The strap length around the ear isn’t adjustable
