RothcoVintage M-65 Field Jacket

Lightweight and Stylish
Man, the U.S. military can design some really great clothing.First thing's first to anyone thinking of getting one of these jackets. A reference. I am around 5'10" and 160lbs (slender dude). I ordered an X-SMALL and it's slightly big on me. If you are looking to buy one of these to wear around casually without any other layers underneath, order two sizes down from your norm. With that out of the way, let's speak of the quality. The Ultra Force jacket we're currently speaking of is 100% cotton which makes it sit very lightly on the body as opposed to the Deluxe versions Rothco makes that are comprised of 55% cotton and 45% polyester and come with a winter liner. I own one of the deluxe versions (at a size medium, haha, I swim in it) and they sit a bit heavier and stiff on the body. This Ultra Force Vintage M-65 is much more comfortable to wear and feels as though the material is going to make this jacket last a significantly long time. Now, for those of you worried about the removal of the "Ultra Force" patch above the right breast-pocket, removal is easy. It's just velcro and can be ripped off. The under side of the velcro can also be removed from the jacket with a seam ripper. This will get one closer to the original look of the jacket, if that is one's wont. With this jacket comes plenty of pocket space, a built-in, concealable hood and an extremely heavy-duty gold zipper. Along with all of this versatility comes a very stylish look, making the jacket all the more tempting to purchase, haha!My bottom-line:The Ultra-Force Vintage M65 field jacket is a comfortable, versatile, and stylish looking jacket just begging to be worn. When factoring in all of these qualities, the cost of the jacket doesn't seem all that bad anymore.

Fantastic jacket!
Ok, so I am 6'1" - 210lbs with rather broad shoulders and ordered Medium. It fits me like a parka with a t shirt only but it looks good with a sweater. I threw it in the washing machine in hot water and after that twice in the drier at high heat to brake it in. ..... Beautiful! It shrank a bit but not much. A size S would have been a lot slicker but wouldn't allow me to wear anything under. Sleeves are the usual re****ded width as the military issued M65s...I hate them but if rolled up a bit it's not that bad.

Great coat. But order small. It is HUGE
Get two sizes smaller. NO kidding. Great coat, great material. Ordered XL. Will now order a medium. i am 5 ft 10 in. 220 pounds.. weightlifter.. The waist on this thing is HUUUGE. It is box cut, so chest is huge on this thing too. Debating whether to order a large and then get my alteration lady to taper it, but will go for a medium with fingers crossed.

Great Product
I just got my jacket today and I'm very happy with the purchase. It's fairly heavy which is going to be great in the colder months, and it looks very well made and durable (that makes me feel a lot better about the $65 I spent on it).If any other women are looking into this jacket, here's how mine fits...I'm somewhere between 5'7" and 5'8", 120lbs. I fit into a size small but normally buy a medium for extra space and comfort. I bought the jacket in an XS and I'm still swimming in it. The jacket comes about halfway down my thigh and the sleeves are long on me, but not to the point that I look like I have slender man arms. It's wide in the chest. Basically, it's going to look like you're wearing a man's coat (which it obviously is).Great product, very happy with the purchase. If I could change one thing, maybe include the liner with the jacket.

WAY TOO LARGE
Steer clear of this jacket.Ordered a XS because I read they run large. I'm 5'8" with a 38" chest, XS is supposed to be for 33" chest, and this still feels two sizes too large in all areas of the jacket.Really disappointing.

Great Army Jacket, with that Lived-In Look
This is a Rothco version of the iconic Military Standard Field Coat, 1965, worn by DeNiro in "Taxi Driver", Schwarzenegger in "Terminator", and Stallone in "Rambo". When someone says "Old Army Jacket", this is the one they mean! Versions of the M65 patterned in camouflage were issued to solders well into 2000's. This jacket can accept a removable button-in cold weather liner (sold separately). I have been wearing an original M65 since High School days (1970s) and need to replace my tattered old friend. This "Vintage" version is made of stonewashed 100% cotton, (instead of cotton/nylon) which makes it VERY COMFORTABLE. They also reduced the size of the massive front pockets and added an (easily removable) velcroed-on ROTHCO logo. But the best thing about this jacket is that it fits and feels like the original. I am 6'1", 240lbs, and usually wear an XL. This jacket fits me perfectly in L. I don't need the liner, I just wear a thin zippered hoodie underneath on cold days. The M65 does not have hand warmer pockets, it is meant to be worn with gloves. For me, this jacket is a perfect replacement for my old friend, perfect for bumming around. Choose wisely, there are a lot of M65 Jackets out there, all slightly different.

Okay quality, watch out for the buttons
Bought this jacket early December/24 wore it a couple of times, paired with the lining offers good warmth, sizing is a bit on the larger side, Feels quite heavy when wearing it.Zipper quality is okay and feels heavy duty when used. The only problem that I have faced so far is that the buttons aren’t properly sewn into the jacket and the overall finishing feels like an afterthought.
