Not really what I was hoping for
I bought this because I couldn't find the brand I usually use and hoped this would be a suitable substitute in my peach cobbler and pound cake recipes. The original product was a very thick syrup that smelled strongly of butter. This is a thin, watery liquid that smells strongly of alcohol and has a strange, bitter undertaste that lingers well after the food is eaten. People who knew what my original recipes taste like were disappointed in the dishes made with this flavoring. However, I'm giving it 3 stars because people who'd never tasted the originals said that the food was good (and they went back for seconds).

This flavoring did nor achieve the anticipated results.
Southern Pound cake was the purpose of the purpose of the purchase. My wife made great pound cakes using another brand of flavoring but the company changed the product. The original product was rather thick when poured. The new product is thin watery and does not provide the taste required.I thought possibly the extract might do the job. Sadly I was wrong. My wife, granddaughter and neighbors to whom my wife gave the recipe are all disappointed. I am still looking for answers to this problem.

Horrible taste
A few drops of this horrid product ruined my much asked for butter cake. I use many extracts but have never used one that rendered the recipe inedible. The whole cake was thrown into the garbage. Even my husband couldn’t eat it.

It ruined my cake
I would give this product 0 stars if I could. It ruined my cake and rendered it inedible due to the serious bitter ethanol taste. Read the ingredients and be assured your dish will taste only of the alcohol
