Received item in timely manner (within 10 days of ordering), considering I live in Hawai`i. Packaging was adequate (nice printed cardboard box + plastic wrap around parts), where none of the parts were damaged/scratched. Easy to follow the instructions and put the mount together, and secure the phone holder in the CD slot of my vehicle. Phones can only be mounted vertically-- not horizontally. Also, when charging the phone, had to lift the phone about 0.5 in above the base of the holder, so the cord would not get pinched. LOVE the side-holders of the mount, where you squeeze the parts together, and it holds the phone securely in place so the phone will not pop out of the holder. The wingnut blocks my view of the reverse camera, but I just turn the mount towards the right passenger seat, and then I have at least an 80% unobstructed view of my camera screen so that I can reverse the car with ease. The mount is very sturdy, and only vibrates with that of the car; if the car doesn't have a smooth suspension (such as with a BMW or Lexus), then the phone will appear to bounce. That is not the fault of the mount, but of the vehicle. Purchased this mount at a VERY reasonable price (non-sale) considering there are many, many, many other mounts available and that cost about the same or more than this item when available via Lightning Deals. Very pleased with this item, and thinking of gifting such to friends/family, but if and only if their CD slot is located a greater distance than mine is located to my camera screen, as this could be considered a hindrance to family/friends. Overall, I would give this item 4.75 stars if allowed.

The pivot point tight and smooth without looseness or slop and yet is easily adjustable for the preferred viewing angle. Feels like good quality. The push-button release for the side arms is conveniently located and easy to access. This holder locks into the CD slot and stays in position, even over rough roads and without having to over-tighten the clamp. In short, it does what it is designed to do; holds your cellphone, and does so superbly. No complaints.

Item works. Was easy to install but not as sturdy in place as I'd hoped; when tightening it into the CD slot, it started to push the slot open, so stopped tightening it. Leaves it bouncy. Also the holder itself is very shallow and difficult to hold a phone with a case and pop socket on it. Would work fine with just a phone (no case).

This is a revised review, changed from 1 to 5 stars. I initially did not interpret the instructions correctly and was not able to use it. The seller sent photos which helped. (I failed to push the ball completely into the socket before tightening the nut.) The charging cable is still accessible. Phone is easily inserted and removed. Position adjusts easily for rotation and angle. I recommend loosening the nut a little before adjusting the angle and retightening after the adjustment. If your vehicle has a rough ride, this might be amplified as vibration in the holder. (Not an issue for my car.) I speculate that this would be true for all CD slot holders. Be careful not to over tighten the part holding it in the slot as it may put pressure on any buttons immediately above or below. I may be purchasing a second one for our other car.

Easy to install & use & extremely sturdy! I have an iPhone XR in a portfolio case & it holds it firmly without shaking at all. The price is right. I can also still play DVD, but who listen to those anymore when there's Spotify, Pandora, & Sirius?

I love the release button on the back, only thing I’ve noticed is that the screw holding the rotating bit (for the phone) seems to keep getting loose on its own? I’m not tightening it as much as I can but that’s because I like to be able to rotate my phone on it. There are three parts that open inside of the CD holder to keep the mount in place but it seems like any slightly larger-than-average speed bump or mildly bumpy road will send the whole thing flying onto the floor. It’s like no matter how much I tighten it it loosens right back up within a few days or so. Good mount for the price, but I’ll probably end up upgrading at some point if I have to keep fishing for my phone on the floor of my car during drives.

I used to use phone mounts that stick to the dashboard and I've realized that they don't work as well as this. This product is sturdy and I'm not afraid that it'll fall out of the CD slot or that my phone will fall. It is secure. Another benefit to this product is that it cradles the phone in a way that allows me to use a charger, which is super important when going on long car rides. It does block the display but that's an easy fix. Just rotate the cradle out of the way when it's not in use. It was easy to put together and I anticipate using this for a long time!

I wanted a CD slot mount and this item was priced right. It works, and the seller was very responsive to questions. On my vehicle at least, the tabs that go into my CD slot seem almost too thick, if that makes sense. I had to use a lot of force to insert the tabs into the CD slot, and getting the mount out is equally difficult. I don't use my CD player very much so I'll just leave the mount installed. If you frequently use your player you might be concerned about possible long term damage.The mount does hold my iphone 6 fairly stable and I like the improved access and functionality of having my phone mounted this way.
