MORE EXCELLENT HISTORICAL FICTION BY MICHAEL SPRADLIN
My 9-year old son really enjoys Michael Spradlin's historic fiction books -- he's read 5 so far, and looks forward to reading the rest of them. I make a practice of reading the books before my son does, and I concur that Spradlin does a superior job of writing for schoolkids -- lots of action, clear stories, and satisfying endings. In this case, the book is about the adventures and growth of a young orphan who gets involved with the Knights Templar, a Crusade to the Holy Land, and makes interesting friends and enemies along the way. It is the second book in a trilogy that is worth completing. This book can stand on its own, without reading the first or third book, but I think a reader will get more enjoyment out of reading all three, in order.

Great for smart kids who like to read, so basically not my kids
Great for intelligent kids, who like learning and reading. My kids do not like either of those things nor are they smart. Straight to donation bin for this series . Heard great things from children of friends and that is why I purchased

Good read.
I haven’t done a lot of reading the last few years. I found this book captivating and hard to put down.

Great read!
My grandson recommended the first book in this series, which I was glad to read and discuss with him. I found Trail of Fate to be even better. I would recommend this book to young adventurers, as well as their grandmothers.

Templar books
I read these Templar books to my kids (10 and 12 yrs old) at night before bedtime, and they love them. They are entertaining and exciting to them. It's also a good book to teach vocabulary as you read.

Love the series so far
Great series, fun, well written, good dialogue, good mixture of action humor and history. A bit of a Robinhood vibe and at times Indianna Jones, great for kids 9ish and up.

Liked It
I liked it. It ranked up there with the others in the series, and I've read all of them. Done.

Awesome!
Such a good series! Love how there are different story elements that pop out from the archer from Sherwood Forest to the boy being Tristan, it's like lil easter eggs for medieval fantasy lovers. Great story line. Book arrived in great condition, though it took longer than I'd hoped. Might have been partially due to needing to know what happened after book one! ♡
