This product was a major surprise. It worked far better than could be imagined. It was used to remove rust from a 50 year old sporting knife. It totally removed the rust without damaging the blade surface. I would not recommend it for anything other than light rust but it was very effective on the surface rust I encountered. When finished, there was no evidence remaining of rust. The way it removed rust was nothing short of miraculous. It was effortless and the pad showed almost no wear when done. It’s neat and leaves no mess. For the price it was easy to take the plunge to see if it would work. The only limiting factor, and it’s minor, is the packaging is all printed in Japanese. I will purchase another to have on hand. This is an excellent product.

I don't know what this is. I don't know what it is meant to do. I don't know whether I am grabbing the fine or course version. Every word on the device and packaging is in Japanese.That being said, it works great at removing rust or leaving a very fine scratch pattern on metal. I have used these for years without really understanding what it is but dang if it doesn't work awesome.

Bought it in 2020, December and have used it on and off since I don't sharpen knives TOO too often. Take my words with a bit of skepticism since I'm no professional or professionally trained either. However, this thing has helped me clean my stones time and time again. It's especially useful for cleaning finer grit stones that can get especially worn from metal build up. It's super easy to use, don't really wear the stone surface down at all, yet it easily cleans off all the residual left overs after scrubbing it well. It's rather small, but in the years I've used it, I feel like it hasn't shrunk down at all. I think if you're sharpening knives quite a lot on stones 1000 grit or above, you'll definitely need this if you want to make sure your stones are working properly.

So far I've used this to clean up the bottom of stainless steal fry pans and it works great. Makes them look like new again. Recommended.
