Great product in take-along size aerosol
Ballistol is about all I ever use on my firearms. It works well, is non-toxic, and the odor doesn't bother me. It cleans, protects, and lubes. These are a set of three small aerosol containers, but they are a little larger than I was expecting. They are larger than the little hotel shampoo bottles, but are not the full-size containers. Each is 4.5" tall with the cap on and contains 1.5 oz. Great for taking along to the range. A bonus is that each one includes a little "straw" extension tube for directing the spray. The large aerosol I bought a few years ago did not include one. Ballistol is also good for other uses around the house. I first learned about this product from Hickok45 on YT. He says it's all he uses, and his firearms obviously work extremely well. I like it better than other similar products. It can be hard to find locally where I live. This set is a little pricey but is a handy take-along size and is well worth it because the product does everything you need.

Great stuff
Works just as described for loosening rusty items. It was originally designed for gun cleaning but I got it because it’s a great all around cleaner rust preventive for metals

Great product. I keep finding more uses for this ...
Great product. I keep finding more uses for this stuff. It is much better than WD-40. It doesn't turn thick like Rem oil will. It is non-toxic which I also love. It cleans power residue and lead well, but isn't the best cleaner out there. It isn't a perfect rust preventative but is very good. It isn't the best smelling stuff, but the smell doesn't last long. It is my understanding that the smell is the antimicrobial. The stuff was originally used as an antiseptic by the German military.I had a door that would start to squeak after a couple of months no matter what oil I used. I tried all of them. It has been over a year since I put Ballistol on it and no squeaks. This is typical of my experience with the stuff.

First time using it
Works well but the scent is a little odd. However, not as bad as Hoppe. Although I knew they were small containers, I was a little surprised at just how small they are. Great cleaner and gets my guns clean with little effort. Recommend it if you can get past the smell

Love this stuff for cleaning guns
This is one of my go-to’s for gun cleaning. Spray is convenient and fast. Works really well for cleaning AR bolt face and chamber. Also, great for lower receiver of plasti-pistols (Glock, M&P, XD).

Outstanding Clean and Preservative, only little better lube needed
Yes, this might be the "holy grail" for gun owners! I have used many cleaners, lubes, and protection chemicals but all have strengths. I got tired of juggling all these cans and bottles so I tried Ballistol and was surprised how good it was!In the last year I started using Breakfree CLP brand and became very comfortable with it. CLP does a nice job cleaning moderate levels of carbon residue, copper, and leads. The lube ability was not as good as I liked but the preservative appears very good leaving a thin oil without gunking parts or drawing dirt/dust. In comparison, the Ballistol product appears to clean better breaking away even thick layers of carbon and lead. Lube was similar to CLP as was the preservative strengths. In summary, most "combination" products seem to clean and preserve fairly well but the Ballistol seems one of the best. As for lube I think a top notch lube is still needed in tiny areas.

Still the best I've tried
Gone back and forth between Ballistol and Hornady One-Shot Cleaner/Lube. Where Hornady is less of a mess, and almost no smell, Ballistol is always messy and even outdoors with a 5mph constant wind, the smell feels like years are being taking off my life every time I use it. Hornady also has better rust preventative properties - which is great for long-time storage - but it also seems to be a dirt or grit magnet. That's not ideal for firearms, especially, suppressed firearms that tend to send soot into the moving parts areas.Ballistol, however, doesn't seem to have that problem. Other than the life-shortening fumes and the surprise run-off in places you didn't think possible, Ballistol keeps the firearm lubricated without getting gunked-up longer, in my experience. Following the guidance of hickok45, I spray thoroughly and come back to the parts for the scrubbing and wipe-down. I'll wipe down to the point of looking dry (and clean), and then spray just a little on a microfiber towel and wipe parts that need lubricating for functionality, and that's it. Nothing crazy. I'll go back to the safe a few days later, and find that Ballistol has found it's way down to the buttstock. Wipes up easily enough, but still wish it would stay put just a little better.
